Re: Model F F77 Ultra Compact -- keymap query

Thanks, terrpn. I would do exactly as you say but I'm on Linux. Will update here in due course in case anyone else is in the same boat.

Re: Model F F77 Ultra Compact -- keymap query

Thanks, Ellipse. My problem was that I had no way of telling if the non-registering SHIFT key was the expected result of "different" keyboard hardware or the unexpected result of a non-working key mechanism. (Such uncertainty may grate on the sensibilities of more experienced users, but it's a ...

Model F F77 Ultra Compact -- keymap query

Hello guys, my first post here in ages (I married an early G80-1800 with blues and settled down for a few years).

My Xmas present was a Model F Keyboards F77 Ultra Compact -- one of the last Carolina Blue examples, which I'm using to type this. It's easily the best keyboard I ever used, better even ...

Corona lockdown prompts clearout

Hi chaps, have lurked for a couple of years but figured deskthority should be first port of call for keyboard clearout. Only a couple of my 'boards will appeal to serious collectors, but those seeking a daily drive might find something useful here for not much $$$. I used to run a bikeshop so ...

Cherry G80-1800HFG => my first Wiki edit

Hi chaps, I just scored an early G80-1800 (UK layout). It's in IBM beige and winkeyless, and has a DIN connector on a curly cable and an XT/AT slider on the base. The vendor said 'MX blues' -- haven't had a chance to check yet, but it's certainly lovely to type on. I edited the corresponding wiki ...

Thanks everyone, but especially Findecanor -- I should have thought of that one myself. I'm aware of the difficulty (or perhaps impossibility, given mhy limited time) of getting an XT board to hook up to a modern computer. Does anyone know an easy way of checking whether it's AT or XT? Best, W.

Basic keyboard repair -- hints welcome

Hi chaps, my first tech request. I bought an interesting keyboard off ebay.de last week. (Lasciate ogni speranza...)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230946227022?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

It's from a luggable Philips logic analyzer, late 80s, alumin(i)um-cased and with Omron ...

I know, I know. But you gotta do what you gotta do. A couple of decades freelancing mean that I must be into triple figures on keyboard usage. Have *never* found one I liked as well as the AT. W.

Would kill for a UK or US 84-key model F (probably #6450200, although there are variants). I had one at a crap job about 25 years ago which gave me an original IBM-AT to work on. I've always wished that I'd walked out with it when I left. Make my month! Best, Will / NIftyprose
