Yes, they are melted in place. I did however clean the contact points on the cable from the rubber keys to the main curcuit board instead, and it seems to have done the trick. :D Thanks for pointing in the right direction!

Rubber keys on Kinesis Advantage trigger randomly

I have a Kinesis Advantage that worked fine for a couple of years (until it was out of warranty..), but now the small rubber keys on the top trigger randomly, and sometimes repeatedly, without anyone touching the keyboard.
