MacBook Pro 2015 - keycaps

Dear all, A long shot I realise but I need some keycaps for a work-issued MacBook Pro 2015. It is a German keyboard layout which I don't like. I'd like to convert it to a UK layout. Of course this has already been done in software but I need about 10 keys or so. I've been looking on eBay DE and eBay...

I am based in the UK and can fix ALPS, IBM Buckling springs. Capacitive buckling springs and also cherry although cherry MX are quite finicky.

Hope that helps.
Ah great - where are you based? I would be interested in having a chat.
Ps. I'm a Brit - so English is not an issue ;-)

New forum design -

Dear all,

I'm not a technical expert when it comes to the websites but I've noted the change of format for DT. Since this change I cannot access DT via Tapatalk - what am I doing wrong?

With thanks in advance,

Keyboard repairers - Germany or UK

Dear all, I'm looking for some help to repair a keyboard. A single MX switch has failed. I've tried cleaning it (with compressed air and electrical contact cleaner) to no joy. I am based in Berlin but travel to the UK often. Any one here or there able to help me? Any recommendations? With best wishe...

I'm sorry, you have the springs confused. These are not the springs under the domes, that indeed have no "functionality in terms of force". These are "after-market" springs designed especially to add force, and they are placed under the keycap (they don't replace the original springs under the dome...

Re: Realforce 104 HiPro - to soft

Maybe some 10g springs from aliexpress ? They can be placed under the keycaps. Won't enhance tactility, just make the pushing a bit harder. Don’t think the spring has any functionality in terms of force. Its all in the dome. But I’m not a technical person. Anyone else? Sent from my iPhone using Tap...

I like the Dell AT101W I got recently, it was brand new old stock and is very nice, but this doesn't mean my single Cherry board is sidelined. I have a MX Green board (FC660C) and it is very nice, the key presses are crisp. But my daily boards vary from IBM SSK and HHKB - when I get board (pardon th...

Re: OG Cherry WKL SAG Dyesubs (R5 Bottom Row).

Still for sale? If so, would this completely work with my full sized filco iso UK? Guess the bottom row might need some help.

Thanks

I agree with the OP. I put Topre 55g domes in my Realforce 104UG HiPro. It feels positively sublime after the conversion. My favorite aftermarket domes are the "55g Korean Domes" you find on eBay for $20. https://www.ebay.com/itm/142648222107 These have a measured force curve: https://plot.ly/~haat...

I've honestly been using Alps for over 20 years, I only just recently click modded it because I wanted a click out of my blacks. If that makes me a hipster for owning this Dell AT101W when it was new, I guess I'm a hipster then. Man, if there's one unassuming, non-hipster workhorse of a keyboard, i...

Hello chaps,

I've been off here for some time. Is it just me or has there been a sudden resurgence in Alps switches? And Cherry now do more than four different types... and what the hell is all this clone stuff?

Feeling out of the loop.

Thanks... already under fire from the wife for cameras, keyboards, pencils, computers etc!

As far as I know, this model only comes in 45g - which is a part of the problem. I've seen third party rubber domes made by BKE Redux. Worth a shout?

Realforce 104 HiPro - to soft

Dear all, Seasons greetings. I find this KB too soft for my needs and have been looking into changing out the rubber domes, to make it heavier. I'd appreciate advice from those who have done this mod... question is, will it make a difference? These days I am mainly using a Cherry MX Green FC660M and...

Quick update, three weeks into MBA w. retina display, KB switch v. 3 - its pretty nice and holding up well. Period of adjustment was around 10 days. I actually really like the feeling nice. The solidness of each key. Key travel is dreadful but you do get use to it. And typing speed and accuracy has ...

I have the new MacBook Air and the keyboard is good, once you get use to it. The sound has a nice thock and whilst the travel is terrible, the feeling is altogether not bad at all. For me, having tried the v1 and v2 of the butterfly kb, this v3 is better. The quality control is very good at Apple, g...

Thanks for your input... I must say, as a Model M SSK user, on my iMac, I quite like the noise the MBA KB makes. Its solid in sound... and feel.

I hook up my HHKBPro2BT quite often, which is a delight to type on.

I shall ensure I keep my unit CLEAN!

Thanks again and best wishes,
