Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!

Ctrl+Esc = Win
That's probably the easiest shortcut to remember: leftmost key in both the upper and the lower rows (on "normal" layouts).
Easy to press blind and with only your left hand.
In other words, fully unnecessary as a dedicated key..

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Remember that nice vintage G80-1000 HAR Cherry board? G80-1000HAR , supposedly NIB. Any guesses how much it will go for? Well, the bidders list shows obvious shill-bidding. The "bidder" shown as e***a (144) in the bid history is or has been bidding, as the details of his own bid history reveals, on ...

Oh, minor point someone PMed me about, I did for a moment wonder if these were retro Blacks they'd found in old stock (or old keyboards, as some manufacturer apparently did) but as they're clear blacks so backlighting can work I guess that'll make them new. If by "clear blacks" you mean that the sw...

I always wonder how important typing speed seems to be to people who actually do not really have to type at high speed, or at least for which a consistent high typing speed is not essential (like it would typically be for e.g. transcribing audio files). Reminds me of car drivers impatient to start l...

Re: Got a Cherry G86, who knows anything about this?

For further information, to open a G80-3000 you don't need any tools other than your fingers. Just, as Fkazim said above, unhook the 4 big clips at the top and then carefully flip the bottom shell open, which will unhook the small bottom clips. Concerning my (usual) rant when people casually denigra...

Vintage Cherry G80-1134 HAX with dual keycaps

My newest grab, an apparently undocumented G80-1134 HAX built in 1988. "Apparently undocumented" because even if Wodan found a keyboard with that exact article no. in one of his legendary recycling center raids, this one features quite special, dual keycaps. And it has its original cord, is fully fu...
