Why I don't need a Realforce R2 :P

Re: IBM Model F 5291 "Bigfoot" protocol?

Read about Soarer's controller (not the converter - although the converter's docs are useful afterwards, with key mapping).

A question of taste - for me it's the opposite, I much prefer the snappier FC660C domes to the Realforce ones.

Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

I have a qHack Alps prototype bought from the Marketplace here on DT, and scottc gave me advice about how to create a plate for it. Now that European plate-making services exist, I really have to give that build a try. The case also might be a problem, since the qHack is a bit larger than a 60% (may...

Re: Searching PMs

I never worked with PHP, or web stuff ...

Would it kill the performance to have the "35 private posts / page" number changed to something much larger (e.g. 10000) ? Then people would only have to export one CSV to search at home. Instant PM backup as bonus, too.

Re: Searching PMs

Would it be easier to make the "export this view" button work on all the PMs somehow, instead of the current page? This way people could then export all their PMs in one step and then search through that CSV/XML file on their local PCs.

There are a variety of black-on-black PBT (or POM) sets out there, usually Cherry profile (at kbdfans.cn for example, originative.com, or Tai Hao). Any specific reason for the Ducky ones? I am reading various reddit posts about these rings, and it seems they are a bit thinner, or at most the same thickness, than Hypersphere's rings.

About the Elite-C USB breakout pins - there are two smaller holes/pads underneath, they could be the D+/D- lines?

Re: Planning on buying a KBP V60

A keyboard without arrows is a bit crippling IMHO; even if you normally avoid arrows, there's always a situation coming up when you need to press some key combo that needs arrows, and having them as FN+somekey makes that combo hard (imagine having to press ctrl+shift+arrows in some program, when arr...

Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

The Plum BT versions have a sleep function, and they enter it after some time (~1 hour?) if not used. Using the 'Wake' key (which is probably polled, but much slower, or has some watchdog-like service attached), the keyboard can be woken up when needed again (you can press any other key to wake the ...

Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

In theory, you could also use an Arduino Micro (or Teensy) and an Adafruit "BLE SPI Friend" and make your own HHKB alternative controller, with Bluetooth 4 - using QMK firmware, which has support for this combination. And Hasu was kind enough to show how to make a DIY controller, instead of buying h...

Re: WTB: Novatouch 6u spacebar housings&sliders + 2x2u sliders

He doesn't want to put a spacebar on the Novatouch, he wants to put it on a converted Topre kebyoard. So it's 6u. It doesn't actually matter, what he wants are two pieces from the Novatouch that can be placed (probably) in a Topre keyboard to stabilize the spacebar. So, it's about the two cruciform ...
