I have a decent soldering station and solder/equipment etc. My background is in physics research so tweezers and tools galore :D. Looking at the pics of those two handwired boards posted, my main question is the housing/case. How do you go about that? I'll have spare switches and caps and ISO poker ...

Hehe sorry what i meant to say was: your ergo-clear experience is pretty much guaranteed by sticking clear sliders into anywhere.. i am using the 67g springs i mentioned earlier; I tried to make the following second statement: different switch bases (the body and the contact leaf) can make a huge d...

I used new mx-reds from a quickfire and clear sliders from a new G80-3000.. the tactile bump is pretty huge now. Where i mixed in some missing spots with used older brown switches and the same new clear sliders the bump is just slightly stronger than normal browns.. Hi, so are you saying that you f...

I thought they had 80g springs like greens?

One thing to point out, from http://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_MX_Ergo_Clear ... It seems like if the spring is too heavy it can be "sticky"... have difficulty pushing the key back up. The wiki page suggests Korean (which the originative are) 55-60g springs. So maybe the 65 would be pushing it. Th...

On the topic of ergo-mods, does anyone know the difference between the 62g springs and 62g "limited" springs on originative's site. One is in stock and one isn't.

ah thanks, yes I can see inside which way around they are by the "wedge" shape of the internals. Do you think the KB would be OK without them...not fussed about backlighting Also, wondering whether to first try the KB with stock lubed clears and then put brown springs for the ergo clear if its too t...

removing LED's from PCB
Hi All, performing the ergo clear mod.... If I remove LED's from the PCB can I leave them out completely once the KB is finished OR do I have to put jumpers (or replace the LEDs) after swapping the switches. Basically will the broken connections where the LED's used to be make the keyboard not work ...

@Jefferai , there is actually a heated debate still going on over in "workshop" concerning whites.. take a look if you haven't already. http://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/ergo-whites-t5152.html. I'd personally go with the ergo-clear for the ergo-dox and see how you like it seeing as you have bought ...

Apologies YOTS, ofcourse I meant Greens :) Jefferai, I have only just got my order through (see a few posts above). However, this order is mainl7 90+ clears a few whites, a few greens, a few reds. So, I can have a play around with them and compare white, clear, blue, green blah blah blah. I can do t...

Can anyone give some advice on Whites? I have heard that they are quite inconsistent in terms of feel, likely because they are inconsistently lubed. Has anyone found this to be the case? I never got to the bottom of this and would like to know also (in the end I decided to invest in switches for th...
