Re: Replacing the Controller in my logitech g610
Awesome! How did you load the firmware onto the controller? That's easy, just a SWD port sitting there. https://github.com/lingex/G610Rebuild/blob/master/PIC/downloading/bootloader.png the other side https://github.com/lingex/G610Rebuild/blob/master/PIC/downloading/STLINK%20IO.png Ah, that's what t...

Re: Replacing the Controller in my logitech g610
I've now used the keyboard for several weeks successfully with a very simple firmware I wrote from scratch. Typing works flawlessly so far. No need to cut or desolder anything. Everything is still connected to a breadboard – the challenge is now to put back everything into the case. breadboard-conne...

Re: Replacing the Controller in my logitech g610
I now soldered cables to the keyboard. overview.jpg The row cables need to be soldered to the bottom leg of the SMD diodes. The column cables need to be soldered to the left connector of the switches. (Pick one of the diodes in each row and one of the switches in each column.) detail.jpg It was easi...

German shop selling ergonomic keyboards
I'm looking for a German shop where I can test and buy ergonomic keyboards. Ideally not only the "simple" ones by Microsoft et al., but also the more "serious" ones by Maltron, Kinesis or even something like an ultimate hacking keyboard. Any recommendations? Preferably somewhere along the axis Berli...

As it happens, I was up to something similar recently. And it worked. The keyboard I was converting was an Access-IS matrix POS board (with the proprietary PS/2 programmable controller from hell). I would love to play with such a grid layout! http://xkeys.com/xkeys/assets/documents/Pi3%20Matrix%20B...

I don't think I had ever seen a multimonitor setup where all the screens were in vertical. How's it handle? You mean how it's usable in regular computer work? It's nothing really special. For me, upright monitors limit head turning and mouse travel distances (when compared to landscape). And they a...

Hi NaTaKa! Though you didn't receive any feedback, were you successful with your project? I received a bricked G610 and also want to replace the controller with a Teensy. So far I determined how the matrix is organized (see attached image - hope I got everything right). Now I need to decide whether ...

This is just an awesome polished keyboard! I have a bunch of broken Thinkpad keyboards (X31/32 and T/R/Z60) which I'm trying to harvest trackpoints from. I connected some to a PS/2 cable, which works, but only for a while. It seems some additional circuitry is key to really make it work: https://pho...

Starting a technical trackpoint page
I'd like to start a Wiki page listing known trackpoint (respectively trackpoint controller) types and their pinouts so that it becomes easier for people trying to use salvaged trackpoints in their DIY projects to find and share needed info. I've not contributed to the Deskthority Wiki yet, so before...

To all you trackpoint hackers: What do you think about assembling a list of known trackpoint controller types and their pinouts on the Wiki? I destroyed one from a T30, which matched the first one linked in this geekhack post , and I could successfully test it without substantial problems. Now I hav...

This looks very inspiring! Makes me want to make progress with a not so unsimilar project. Concerning the trackpoint: I tested a trackpoint from a ThinkPad T30 donor by directly connecting it to a PS/2 cable, which worked. There might be fewer sources of error in such a simplified setup compared to ...

For the mouse buttons I again used the existing switches and mounts from the Thinkpad Keyboard. The only issue I ran into was that it was a pain to connect to the membrane circuitry. I used conductive epoxy and had problems with copper tape. I pulled apart a Thinkpad T30 Keyboard. http://i.imgur.co...

Great project - IMHO split keyboards are the way to go. Pjmelon, I see you're using two Teensys. I'd expect this wasn't for performance reasons, was it? I'm thinking about using one Arduino Micro polling up to four PS/2 devices (trackpoints and keyboard controllers from old Thinkpad and desktop keyb...
