A look at the Team Wolf Zhuque+ keyboard with swappable switches

I recently received a Team Wolf Zhuque+ TKL keyboard, replaced the switches (without soldering - so nice) with Gateron browns (with transparent tops), and swapped the keycaps with Vortex double-shot PBT/POM keycaps. My write-up: http://trauring.org/a-keyboard-with-swappable-switches/ For just a prev...

Any chance you can get the site working for everyone? How would the unassembled kit be offered? Would it cost less? Would the PCB have all the SMD components pre-soldered, and just allow one to add the switches themselves? Also, you mentioned keycaps available from Lyn, but I don't see those. Will t...

Sorry. It will open tomorrow. :( Just so you know, some countries are still blocked from your site. Using a VPN I can see the International listing for $400, but it is frustrating needing to use a VPN to access your site. You should really figure out why you're blocking whole countries. Also, I tho...

You can join GB in this KBDcraft.com.
Thank you for your interesting. :)
Just so you know the site currently gives a 403 error in some countries. I hope when the international GB launches, that will be fixed.

403 means the server is blocking the client for some reason. It has nothing to do with the client, except that the server has been configured not to let that client access things. Very strange.

ErgoDoxian is great, but it's not a complete modifier set – it has 19 keys, of which not more than 16 can be used on the keyboard at one time. It also has no consideration of rows as far as I can tell - which means it won't work well with contoured key families. What I'm proposing is a set that incl...

Towards an ErdoDox keycap set with legends

I've long wondered why there has never been a set of keys for the ErgoDox that have legends. Without getting into the argument for blank keycaps, some people strongly prefer legends on their keys. It seems that usually the keycaps available for the Ergodox are either a completely blank set, or a set...

The blank keys are already part of the ErgoDox set (and every other ErgoDox set).

I still think it would be a nice option to have the labeled keys. People will most likely be buying the ErgoDox set with it so will have the option of having blanks wherever they want. If they want labeled keys, they have them as well.

Here's a partial revision. I don't think it looks too bad. The only problem is that if the person minds which way the text is oriented, their options on where they put them become a bit more limited (i.e. if they want it facing down to up on the left and up to down on the right, then they need to be...

Of course, I'm advocating for a printed keycap set, primarily because there haven't really been any printed sets available. In fact I'm not aware of any fully-labeled sets for the ErgoDox. Not everyone wants blank keys, no matter how skilled a touch typist they may be.

I wasn't clear about the rotation. I thought you meant we couldn't write it vertically (i.e. one letter below the next). The other option is to have some keys with sideways legends. Lots of people have done that for their own keyboards (since it's so hard to find keycaps that are properly labeled). ...

A few more comments on it. I don't have the list of possible keys, so it's a bit of a guessing game as to what I could do. I hope I didn't use anything I can't. ErgoDox uses layers which some people use a bunch of keys to control. As I didn't know of specific Layer-oriented keys, I assumed there wer...

Okay, here we go. The R3/R4 thing threw me for a loop, but in the end it wasn't that big of a deal. In fact I had put in keys to allow you to make a 4-way arrow cluster (which required swapping an R3 up arrow with a R4 key above it), but now that's not necessary since they're both R4. In any case, I...

Whoah. Wait a sec. You just changed the bottom row from R3 to R4. I had a bunch of combinations based on that being R3. Is it officially now R4? I was about to upload my layout, but if that's R4 I need to make a bunch of changes.

Can you make a proposal? A very quick sketch with all the keys you'd want in an ergodox kit I'm not so great at quick I guess. I wanted to do a bit of research first. First, I decided on looking at the history of the layout. I created an illustration of the default QWERTY layout that MassDrop Confi...

It's impossible to foresee all possible configurations, we tried with Granite and we covered a mere 70%. To have all options double-shot we would need to sell like 200 ergodox kits :) I'm not suggesting all possible options, but at least 2 variations for each row/size. i.e. there are 6 R3 1.5u keys...

On the ErgoDox, is the issue of the modifiers being blank that the ErgoDox is traditionally highly customized (and thus labeling the keys might limit the user), or is it that the 1.5u keys would each need to be custom-designed and thus cost-prohibitive? I noticed that the ErgoDox-EZ folk are offerin...

Tadersy, Falbatech just sells bare PCBs, although they will add diodes and such as a service. I assume this is not done by machine, however. I think in the end, what most people would like is a cheaper option for the case, which is impossible to produce cheaply right now using prototyping techniques...

Will you sell parts to those who want to assemble themselves? In particular, I imagine many DIYers in the forum would like a cheaper option for an Ergodox case, and since you are injection-molding yours, they should be significantly less expensive than current options. I could also see people wantin...
