I plan to use keycaps from a Kinesis Advantage, but WASD is almost certain to produce a set, since he is even buying an Ergodox.dirge wrote: What's everyone doing about keycaps? Still haven't sourced any for mine.

So if shipping to the US is free and shipping to the world is not, this means it's a US-centered service where people from Europe subsidize free US shipping? Webwit, they are based in the US, so naturally it costs more to ship elsewhere. Frankly, when the project started back in 2011, the estimated...

In this GH thread, the guy who runs Massdrop gives lots of good info on why the site requires registration and such: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=35549.0 I decided to register (without facebook needless to say) and it's not bad at all, all it needs is your email adrdess, and you can use any u...

I'm using seimitsu PS-15, they take less amount of space inside the case compared to other arcade buttons, just 21mm which can be reduced by another 5mm if you bend the terminals. I use the arcade buttons for shift (or Fn layer occasionally), and it's a huge relief to my pinky fingers. http://akihab...

Hmm, I wonder if it's easy to install palm keys (arcade buttons) in the Full-Hand acrylic ErgoDox case, such as in my Kinesis extra keys mod
Is the palm area solid, or does it have empty space, and what are the dimensions in that area ?

The [] keys I left where they are, they were not that hard to get used to, but you can move them to =- or Hope/PgUp or some other location. graham, can you point...

I think we should stick with "mechanical" especially now that it's a commonplace term for users and for vendors alike. You can't change the tide. It would be a nobler cause to try and abolish the horrendous, stupid, and utterly pointless zig-zag key arrangement of most keyboards (inherited from 18th...

A keyboard with flat curve is the Data911 TG3... I have one and all keys are of the same profile and on the same plane. It's a sturdy mechanical compact keyboard with cherry MX blacks. Alternatively, if you want to create a flat curve on a keybard you already have, just order a set of keys from WASD...

As a linux user, when I'm using my Poker, I'm making use of that DIP setting, and have Fn keys on both left and right (not really missing the win key). Moreover, I remapped the Menu key (with xmodmap) to tilde/backtick, so that the top-left key can be locked to Escape mode for or vi / vim. So it wor...

Oh most wise Oracle, I commend thy sincerity and discernment. Indeed, I shall rely on my old Poker/mx reds for my compact keyboarding needs, until a new breed of 68-key keyboards perhaps emerges. I thank thee once more! What do you know, a 67-key keyboard is proposed here ... a compact version of t...

Oh wise Oracle, do you know of any small mechanical keyboards, preferably backlit, with 5 rows of keys (such the Poker and Pure) that have dedicated arrow keys? Or, described the other way around, something like the RACE or Nopoo Choc mini keyboards, but without the function key row? I guess I'm loo...

I'm still waiting for the definitive answer on what o-rings are best so I only try once. 40A durometer, EPDM o-rings from WASDkeyboards are the best. They now offer them in 2 different thicknesses, the new thinner ones have very negligible travel reduction. http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/ch...

off, this is a good mod IMO. I dislike the fact that shift and enter feel totally different than the rest of the keys in my cherry-stabilized Poker. I dealt with the issue in a different way: I put o-rings on all keys except the stabilized ones (which were mushy already). The keyboard feels surprisi...

Seimitsu PS-15 (they are low profile arcade buttons, that don't extend too much inside the case).
Here they are in yellow, you're in Germany right?

Each hole center is 20mm from the south edge of the keyboard and 78mm from the side edge. However, having used these for a while, believe that I placed the buttons too far toward the middle of the keyboard. This is so great Dox! One think I'm noticing is the gap between the main cluster and the thumb cluster. If possible, you should either increase the gap a pit and squeeze an extra key or two between them, OR reduce the gap so that the thumb keys are easier to reach (noticed you made that observation ...
