I asked MD to add an option to download the firmware source code from the layout configurator, and they added it! I hope I'll have time to put the keyboard together in the next couple of weeks. Some folks seem to have already built it the same day they got it!!! BTW the assembly instructions have be...

They are all the same very low profile. I'll put them on my Kinesis first to try them out. Anyway, any PBT set for $35 is definitely worth it :-)

They are kinda thick, but not really heavy. Their PBT material feels definitely harder than ABS.

No they did not, however I checked my order status on MD earlier today and saw a tracking number.
So for those who ordered and want to check, click your username -> My transactions -> recent transactions on massdrop.com and you'll see a tracking number if they shipped yours.

The dvorak keycaps by Kinesis still have the QWERTY labels. They are dual-label keycaps. You may want to go with a blank keycap set if QWERTY labels bother you. Or, be like me and just don't look at the keycaps :-) My first Kinesis had dual-label keycaps, but since I learned to touch type Dvorak, al...

Pure PRO (arrow keys) apparenty in stock and selling

Looks like the Pure PRO (backlit mechanical 60% keyboard with arrow keys) is now available and selling for €109.99, currently in French and Spanish layouts:

Anyone buy it yet?

Don't know yet, but I'm going to report the result and post pictures. They are blanks by the way. If they don't work too well, I'll put them on one of my Advantage boards :-)

In my case, apart from getting a set from MD, I also ordered a set of Advantage keycaps from Kinesis since I like their thumb key profiles (although I'll need to complete it with a few extras from WASD since the ergodox has a few more keys than the ADvantage).

Thought I'd post some photos that were emailed to the MD GB participants today. Lot's of aluminum! Although I won't be getting any of it; a while back, before the GB ended, I changed my order and am getting both my keyboards with acrylic cases (one classic, one full hand). http://massdropinc.s3.amaz...

No, just no! I can't do Umlauts and ß without right Alt (AltGr). But who does ever use right Ctrl? I do. For Ctrl-A, Ctrl-E in bash, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-W in tons of places. It's very unergonomic to contort your hand and do these combos single-handedly. Ctrl-A is particularly bad since the touch typing fi...

Kinesis offers a 60-day money back guarantee so you can certainly try it for up to 2 months and if you don't like it for whatever reason you can return it for a full refund, just pay shipping. Just curious, are all models, including the Pro and the Advantage LF, eligible for the 60-day money-back g...

HHKB JP also has non-standand staggering... wow it's identical!

I don't mind the different staggering by the way, the standard staggering is pretty ridiculous, and this one is actually a slight improvement!

Sure, but this illustrates how ridiculous the standard stagger is. This keyboard here, as well as the HHKB JP have a better stagger than the standard :)

It got better with the both lubricants, but I expected a bigger difference than I got. Also, I'm not sure why people bother to lube the spring, that didn't make any difference that I could tell.... is the spring really a friction point? Anyway, so far I lubed the thumb switches of my modded Kinesis ...

Based on this video I believe the finish line is closer to the GPL206 than the GPL203 as the CRK grease should be the GPL204 one. No, CRK grease is not Krytox but rebranded Christo-Lube grease (manufactured by Lubrication Technology Inc), probably MCG-111. http://images.knifecenter.com/thumb/1500x1...

You could emulate large return keys, backspaces, etc by putting 2 (or more) 1-unit keys side by side, doing the same function. So you could kind of emulate large ANSI or ISO enters :-)

A European GB would be nice, and I don't think the designer's consent is even needed. It's an open source project, all the design files are now on ergodox.org and you are free to use them, change them, and redistribute them according to the GPL license: http://ergodox.org/License.aspx Similarly, you...

Ok, thanks. I was hoping one of the two would options offer access to new posts with 1 click right on the home page (like "View your posts" does) instead of 2 (control panel, manage XYZ).

Anyway, my "your stuff" feature request, to show everything of interest bundled together, still stands :-)

What are the differences between Subscriptions and Bookmarks, exactly? Also, could we add a feature, like a link on the front page (call it "your stuff" or whatever) that will show all of: {View your posts, Subscribed topics, Bookmarked topics} in the same list ? That would make it easy to see new p...

It's true, and that's why keeping the zig-zag staggering is so ridiculous. It's like having cars keeping a shit bucket in the rear, like they did with horse carriages. It's incredible that all these high-end keyboards that focus on anodized cases, NKRO, or designer keycaps, fail to address the worst...
