I'd use it with blank keycaps so the profile isn't that much of a problem for me. It would definitely be better than any 60% board in existence :P EDIT: Changed FN to Alt (AltGr) and Apps to FN Maybe like this? http://i.imgur.com/amxAiC4.png Close, but make the top left key be an Escape instead of ...

I use it all the time with mouskeys. Do the below commands on linux, and it makes your numpad move the pointer (on my Kinesis Advantage I also have a mod where I press an arcade button with my palm, and enables the numpad layer under my right hand) xkbset m # enable mousekeys xkbset exp =m # avoid e...

The only mechanical keyboards I know that do layout switching are the Kinesis Advantage (I see you have it already), the Rapoo V7 (you'd have to create the layout yourself) and the WASDkeyboards V2 (via dip switch setting... that keyboard is coming out in 1-2 months). Well, also teensy-based project...

Not bad! I counted 67 switches in the US layout, quite a lot for that size, hmmm. Is it plate-mount or PCB mount ? I'm still wating to see ~70 key (65% ??) boards coming out though, That would be the sweet spot for compact keyboards for me... like a Poker/Pure only a bit longer to accomodate arrow k...

Oh, Ctrl+Delete or Home+End with the same thumb? Hard, especially since on the Kinesis the keys have different heights. Ctrl+Delete is especially bad because you end up pushing the Delete at the top, and there's no stabilizer. But you can use thumb and index finger to hit those 2 buttons simultaneou...

Please continue discussion regarding the massdrop groupbuy here . Thank you for splitting the thread! Since it got moved, I'll just repeat a useful linx about the online ErgoDox layout configurator that allows you to create and save multilayer layouts, and generate the corresponding .hex firmware f...

If you have patience, there's the WASD v2 keyboard coming out soon, which has quite a bit of features like layout selection (qwerty/dvorak/colemak), mac mode, etc, and a backlit version. The main niche of WASD is fully customizable keycaps, but the keyboards are such good quality that people buy the...

Makes sense, I wouldn't want anyone on the internet to invoke my compiler. Say, hitting save after a layout modification gives you a download promt for the .hex file in just a couple of seconds, it's very slick ! Uh, dunno but TrulyErgonomic definitely can learn a thing or two from MD :-) TE is a *k...

Cool idea. BTW my keyboard has a buzzer when I hit caps lock, so I don't even have to look![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
It goes buzz-buzz! From the factory actually (keyboard is Kinesis Advantage) but can be turned off.

@7bit That's fine too, let's dedicate this thread to the project and not the group buy. Please remove the GB stuff, move it elsewhere. Perhaps leave 1 post, pointing to the group buy site (and we'll add pointers to any community group buy threads that will come up as well). My point is let's clean u...

Oh, the thread is open again? Good! Could an administrator kindly move the massdrop-debate-related messages to a different thread, so this thread is cleaned up? It's really hurting the project and distracting from what's important. A decision was made, some people like it some hate it, it's like an ...

there is still the fact that group buys should be done between the suppliers and us, without some commercial group buy organiser in-between. Hmm, by that token shouldn't we avoid using payal and shipping companies, and instead drive and meet each other to exchange cash and goods? We rely on commerc...

@Ian Apart from the extras you could add to a kit, they later started separate group buys for PCBs on their own, cases on their own, and switches on their own, but those GBs are now ended as well. Anyway, some folks will probably sell some extras or even entire keyboards after they get them, and hop...

All these conditions are written by laywers, yes, unfortunately companies have to hire lawyers if they want to stand a chance to survive. When I take my kids to a trampoline place, I have to sign a worse waiver, saying that I am not to hold them liable even if injury or death occurs because of their...

It's ok to disagree and rant about the decision to go with a company organizing the GB. What's not ok, is attacking the company. They were called to provide a service, doing a good job (yes 200+ kits is AMAZING) so they shouldn't be attacked. It's like you hire a guy to mow your lawn, he is sweating...
