Re: Bluetooth 4.0 BLE-USB-Bridge - HID Proxy - legacy - TV adapter/dongle

Actually the firmware is widely configurable in software. The dongle is based on CSR's 8510 chipset. There's a CSR (now part of Qualcomm) software package available that allows you to configure virtually every setting (and totally brick your device!) At some distant point in the past dongles similar...

Re: IBM Model M BT-USB controller conversion kits

Hi Jörn, I was wondering if there was any update on this feature request Also - I'm based in New Zealand (I emailed you earlier) - I notice DHL now has surface mail to NZ. Are you able to ship mod kits again? Thanks. No, not yet, but it's been assigned to a higher slot on my to-do list. Yes, you're...

OK, so one guy has bought one of these and seems to be quite happy using it (as am I). I've asked him to post some feedback I hope he's going to share his experience with everybody sometime soon.

Re: Bluetooth 4.0 BLE-USB-Bridge - HID Proxy - legacy - TV adapter/dongle

Is the BT wake-up still going to be there ? Like having to press a key on the keyboard after an idle period before being able to type and the pc to get the signal again? Good question. I don't know. I haven't had time to check yet, but I will asap. Did I get it right or the advantages & features ar...

Re: Solderless adapter socket for HC-xx, HM-xx BT modules (breadboard, Arduino, prototyping)

btw, here's some illustration of the 'design' process. I've include a picture of a very interesting alternative approach by WDWHITE@Thingiverse. I would have loved to try my hands on that, but, alas, I don't own a 3D-printer and don't find them overly useful or interesting, so I had to rack my brain...

Re: IBM Model M BT-USB controller conversion kits

So, I have to ask... Any plans to update this to Bluetooth LE available in Bluetooth 4 and 5 to increase battery life? What's the highest capacity battery you can recommend? The BT module already supports BT 4.0 BLE and the firmware has been tweaked to minimize power consumption. A 500 mAh battery ...

haha, well, the socket adapters work just as I had planned and I have been using them productively for a while now for BT development. Apparently there are two people watching my Ebay listing, so I assume there is *someone* out there who thinks this could be useful, heh. =^p

Bluetooth 4.0 BLE-USB-Bridge - HID Proxy - legacy - TV adapter/dongle

Not sure if a lot of people will find this useful, but I've been offering these for a while on Ebay and recently a buyer suggested I blow the horn about it on the forum to give it a little more exposure. The price is 20€ + shipping. BT-USB bridge / HID proxy dongle bt_hid_proxy_dongle1.jpg IN HID PR...

Re: IBM Model M BT-USB controller conversion kits

Thank you for your reply. I'm only familiar with QMK and already have a "default" set of TapDance, Macros etc., I use of my board, so it would be very easy for me if it was available. But if your firmware can handle the likes of TapDance and Macros without too much hustling I could off corse use th...

Re: IBM Model M BT-USB controller conversion kits

Could this run qmk by any chance? If QMK can be compiled for XMEGA MCUs, yes. Keep in mind though that you would be pretty much on your own with this, I would really only be supplying the raw silicon, so to speak, no technical support as far as firmware issues are concerned. Would you mind explaini...

possible to make one for a new Model F from Model F labs? I have one on order and would like to convert it to bluetooth. No. F series keyboards have capacitive switches, so in order to be able to scan the matrix the microcontroller must be able to sense variations in capacity. My crummy little cont...

People over at Geekhack seem to be having a really hard time understanding what I'm offering here. You cannot buy such an adapter anywher...

It has an MX mount, so it's not that useless. ... The value is mostly that you can't sell it and it's not easily reproduceable (although, y'know, Chinese guys). Sure, agreed, but why a wing nut? Apparently because nuts and bolts are symbolic of 'mechanics'. I reckon that's why it was chosen to repr...

on a side note, what does a (artistic, useless) wing nut have to do with keyboards? Isn't a wing nut more reminiscent of an era when there were no computers, and hence no computer keyboards (mechanical or other)? My crummy little keyboard controller project has not been nominated (it was featured in...

here's a little update: I've installed macOS 10.14 Mojave on a VM running on a Windows PC and the USB issue that I was going to investigate did not occur in that environment. older Mac mini or notebook

Hi there fellas, I know this is a keyboard forum, but I'm afraid I need a Mac for development and testing of USB devices. Re: IBM Model M BT-USB controller conversion kits

I've overhauled the firmware, communication with host app is now completely driverless. Additionally, I (finally!) made a USB HID bootloader, so performing a firmware update will be easy from now on (although the added utility may seem somewhat marginal, it's still good to have!). I've also tweaked ...
