Re: Can someone identify this aftermarket Model M controller?
So I've flipped the sockets to the other side and it still works as much as it did before I think.
Now I need to figure out the firmware.

Do you have the firmware for this revision?

Re: Can someone identify this aftermarket Model M controller?
Am I being stupid or is this design slightly upside down? It is as pictured tbf but the old revision makes sense with the cable sockets on the top.
Do you think if I remove and solder the sockets to the top this will work?

So I got one! Unfortunately it doesn't fit in the SSK case.

Re: Can someone identify this aftermarket Model M controller?
Can anyone help track down the taobao link for this controller? I emailed the creator but was just sent a new picture of the listing, but I'm not able to track down the listing from the image.

Re: Diagnosing a dead switch
Thanks. No multimeter, unfortunately - but presumably you could make a ghetto one with a battery and a small lightbulb?
Also, re: bridging the pins, can I do that while the switch is still in? I thought Cherry MX switches sent the signal by breaking the connection rather than making it - or am I ...

Re: Diagnosing a dead switch
So, I've been working on a THKB prototype board and after soldering it all together, everything works...except for the "Z" and "LGUI" (Win?) key. Now, I want to diagnose if this is a problem with the switches involved or the diodes or solder joints or something else? How would I go about testing ...

Looks good, I think the closer spacing feels more IBM-ish. For box graphics I think either option would be good (vector or XT/AT line art style), and since we are not really copying the original style of the boxes for the 50, 62, or 77, which are a little bit bland ( http://deskthority.net/photos ...

The fourth looks the best to me, and I am guessing you used the "men in blue" font to generate that one? I had looked at that font a while ago when box discussions were going on, and it matches the old IBM graphics very well, the only place that it needs some work is on the inter character spacing ...

I had a go at some packaging design a while ago. I was just thinking of the front of the box and solid colour for the rest or some with a white line. The box of the SSK was the main inspiration. But IBM had some very nice packaging even something like typewriter ribbons look really nice.

They really should have sent out some before-market prototypes for testing and reviews, especially given the fact that the switch housings are machined into the top case. It will be of interest to find out how the aluminum switch housings affect the sound and feel of the HHKB and how the height of ...

Would you be able to implement some of the planck shortcuts? and would the reset keycode allow me to go into programming mode or is this something that is hardcoded?

I just realised I might have trouble typing on this. I need an extra switch for 'O' on the homerow. It's not quite colemak friendly.
This is my current working layout
I may also change the number row to a numpad style arrangement like in the first post. I was also thinking it might be nice to have ...
