Ich hab meiner Ducky Zero einfach glaserte PBT caps einer alten Cherry G80 verpasst. 2 Tasten musste ich dafür mit Gewalt und Kleber anpassen. (Der Tastatur ist nix passiert) Bin nicht 100% glücklich aber helle, gutlesbare Tasten und PBT Gefühl waren mir wichtig und es gibt ja wenig alternativen ...

Ah, that's pretty much the same board besides the branding. Great, now I know the Model number. But mine hasn't gotten Doubleshots as the Wikipage claims all boards have. Does yours have Doubleshot and Blue Alps combined, Seebart?

The adpater arrives and it's working allright with the switch set to A (instead of X) and typing is great. Probably the best switches I've tried yet. So I'd actually like to use it in every day live. (Not for gaming - for that MX reds have proven pretty great imho. But for coding the clicky feedback ...

I'm still trying to figure out what kind of switches I actually prefer. I really wanted to try blue alps (because I almost like cherry MX blues... almost, but not quite right) and it looks like I finally got my hand on some.

@davkol: I bought like 4 or 5 of those that I've been lending to collegues at work so they learn to appreciate mechanical keyboards! So far I haven't got one of them back^^

I'm also considering to buy a TKL keyboard with a german layout and MX Blues. What I don't get is why virtually every option is either partiall or fully backlit. Who wants that? That 88 LED mean 88 more components that could break or otherwise become defunct. And most custom keycaps don't support ...

So if I'd buy a G80-3000 it should work? The stabilized keys too? How do I know that the caps are PBT plastic?

I've got the feeling I'm not clever enough for this hobby.

I have a Ducky Zero with MX Reds and a German ISO layout. I don't like the caps very much (too high, too black, glossy plastic) and so I thought I'd just buy a keyboard with caps that I do like and replace them.

Wow, thats a crappy situation. If I pay someone to ship stuff to me and I didn't pay the extra price for an insured shipment I wouldn't expect him to give a refund if something goes wrong during transit. I would have to believe the seller that he did everything in order and it wouldn't feel right to ...

My custom "firmware" is really basic. As far as I understand it the Atari keyboard itself wouldn't support multiple non-modifier keypresses at the same time (NKRO) so my programming doesn't deal with complexities like that. Maybe I do the keyboard injustice ...

A while ago I was browsing a local flee market for used keyboards. No luck with that, but I found an Atari 800XL for 20€ that was in great external condition and I figured I could try to turn it into a keyboard instead.

I'm currently typing on a couple of used G80 1800 because they were the cheapest gateway into mechanical keyboards. (paid ~5-10€ each)
Now I want to get serious and invest into a more customized keyboard. I'm thinking of buying a stock keyboard with MX Reds and then look for a matching set of custom ...
