Yup, that's the one I was thinking of. Looks very similar to the Tex Yoda, except for the "mouse keys".

My EnduraPro's pointing stick doesn't get in the way, so I can't say it's worse than nothing, and there were (in the past) some bugs in Unicomp's USB controllers EXCEPT for the one used on the EnduraPro, but otherwise, I really don't find the EnduraPro's pointing stick useful.

The Unicomp pointing stick does not deserve the TrackPoint name, though. Myself, I don't use the pointing stick on mine, except for when my ScrollPoint is acting up and I need a pointing device for a quick moment and don't want to wait for it to reset. It's that bad, and I'm usually fine with Alps ...

@Thomas: Regarding mods to the left of the spacebar, I took care of this by remapping F9 and F10 as Control and Alt/Option. This was actually more than I needed, because I already had remapped CapsLock as Control.

If you're willing to travel further down the rabbit hole, you could always get one of these and convert it to a layout very similar to the standard 105-key ISO layout (except for having the function keys on the left). :evilgeek:

There is some debate as to why the older IBMs feel different than the newer ones or the Unicomps. Some people think it's because the key stems have had more time to polish against the barrels.

So that means that they do feel different after all then. Although from what you say I would expect that ...

If you want the USB and Windows keys, buy the Unicomp.

USB isn't that important for me. My docking station still has a PS/2 port, so it's actually a good thing as it leaves me with one more free USB port. However, the Windows key is missed. Also, a TrackPoint would be great to have on an external ...

You might try a quality Cherry board with MX blues. They are lighter but still clicky. The wiki should have actuation forces for all the switches.
