Just to let people know. If you hold both shifts and try to type "the quick brown fox....." the controller seems to crash and I have to unplug it then put it back in. That is because when you hold both shift, hasu's firmware does some special commands depending on the third key. Both shift + B = Ju...

Files for the case are now available in STL and STEP format here: http://ergodox.org/downloads.aspx

The single slope version is the version I got from shapeways and it have a slope similar to a regular keyboard.
The double slope have the same slope as the single sloped one + a bit of tenting.

The layered plate construction might be possible to get it under 200$.
The CNC is just impossible. The cheapest quote I got was minimum 900$.
I like the result from shapeways. I might order some parts in the alumide material next.

The shapeways screenshot is only for 1 top part of 1 hand. 50$x4 = 200$.

For 100 PCBs the price will probably be around 30$ for the pair. For the case, I will put my models available on shapeways for those who want to go with this. The flat case from shapeways cost ~200$ and the angled like the prototype ~280$ As dorkvader said, he is working on the plate layer case too.

Yes, SP can do every keycap size for the outermost (1.5x) column. They can also make the tall thumb keys like on the kinesis.
Maybe a group buy for blanks to fill those uncommon keys could happen but nothing national specific.

Good start PV! I have a few observations. There is a missing mounting hole near the thumb keys on the left of the pcb. The stabilizers are not required. It feel much better without them. Instead, we could have the option to place two 1x keys instead of one 2x. I remember someone asking for this. The...
