Re: Great/Interesting Finds
https://www.ebay.com/itm/265016953511 Probably one of the best condition 5251s I've seen and it comes with a set of blue selectric key caps Went for $2550, not surprised. Like weezer said its the best condition I've seen and comes with some gorgeous keycaps to boot. I just got a 5251 in mint condit...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds
Currently, that's $561. Only $140 per board. Shipping's $91 for expedited and $58 for economy. That's not bad. Cords are cut, though. Is it bad that I'm estimating costs to repair in my head, especially considering I just bought a blue Alps? If you wanted to buy these in order to profit any price b...

Re: Recreating the Lisp keyboard (10 years later)
Man this is hecking awesome! Definitely pricey, but I would say that is well justified given the amount of work you put into this and the quality of the keyboard.
The pure amount of care that went into this project is admirable, I hope more people get interested!

Re: IBM 3276 versus 5251
Thank you for all the input. These are exactly the opinions and information I was looking for. I should note that I use an independent numpad set on the left side of whatever keyboard I am using and would likely do so in this scenario. I have factored this into my consideration so it is interesting...

Dude great work, this will definitely save time for a lot of people. No more combing through a sheet of scancodes to figure out what my keyboard is spitting out!

You can use a sandblaster to deshine keys? This is the first I'm hearing of this. Wouldn't that wear down the legends?hellothere wrote: ↑28 Dec 2020, 20:10I'd also like to put together a sandblaster station. That'd help on so many levels of keyboarding: bad metal cases, bad mounting plates, de-shiny keys ...

Re: [WTB] [WTTF] IBM 3279
https://www.ebay.com/itm/124504855445/ So his brother isn't an option? Unfortunately no, I'm about to get a 3276 soon so I'm not looking for this variant. Really wanting the 3279 for the colored caps and the gorgeous logo, It's pretty much aesthetics I'm after. Thanks for looking out for me though :)

Very nice acquisition, nice to see someone get ahold of one of these! I would say restore it, you might find that the foam is completely gone when you open it. As for the top cover, I think it would be awesome if this was used for say the power button on your PC, or possibly to open a certain applic...

Re: What are your keyboard projects for 2021?
Finally, I want to 'robotise' a keyboard as something fun to do. Nothing hugely expensive or rare will be used for it, but I'm currently deciding between tank tracks or one of my currently-disused robot spiders (well technically, they're hexapods) as the 'driver' for it. Why? Because, why not! nigh...
