East Asian input is software based. The scan codes are mostly the same and in case of JIS, you have extra keys that emit scan code. Karabiner names the JIS extra keys JIS_* so you can take a look at its scan code definitions

(Fun fact: Chinese people use US-ANSI keyboards)

My experience with football (the sport you play with feet and ball)
  • Opportunity to not giving a fuck (I always root for the team whose fans make less noise when winning)
  • I don't need a particular reason to get drunk
  • There are more interesting things to watch involving 22 men

Looks like I'm in the most common age group (1984 for me) and below the median. So I'm kind of disappointed that I can't count myself as "old fart"

I can't be bothered to buy bottled beverages and I find most soft drinks too sweet, so I usually drink tap water. We have a tap that can spit out carbonated water at work, so that's what I drink during the work day. At home, I drink plain tap water. When I do drink a soft drink, those are my prefere...

As someone who is working in the terminal on a daily basis, I really appreciate that Mac OS has that Command key for keyboard shortcuts. I can use Ctrl-C to send SIGINT as you expect and Cmd-C to copy as everywhere else in the OS. I also quite like entering umlaut on Apple's US layout: None of that ...

If you're desperate for additional IO pins, you can also solder to the resistor of the LEDs at the bottom (with the micro USB connector at the top). They're PB0 and PD5. They'd be a lot easier to solder onto than those QFN pads…

Installed them in my HHKB yesterday evening and still need to get used to the new sound. You need an ARM crosscompiler and tools instead of the Atmel toolchain. Will this work https://launchpad.net/gcc-arm-embedded/+download ? Yep, that's the toolchain you need for embedded ARM. Change the Atmel specific code to ARM code. What that code would be for gh60? Is there any tutorial for doin...

Right handed, usually with right thumb. My left thumb's primary responsibility is to hit "Command" (i.e. the modifier next to the space bar which you need a lot when you work on a Mac) and "Alt" (to enter umlauts and moving the cursor word-wise).

The contact leaves do touch without the slider. The slider keeps them apart until you reach the actuation point:

Also, re: bridging the pins, can I do that while the switch is still in? I thought Cherry MX switches sent the signal by breaking the connection rather than making it - or am I making this up? You can do this with the switch soldered in. Cherry MX are normally open, i.e. It makes contact when you p...
