I had issues with the stabilized switches on mine as well. I found that the cilps had a little lateral movement and needed a little tweaking to make sure that they were parallel to each-other and the sides of the plate. Adjusted in that way and they went from barely working, to working well.

I just ...

There is no inclination in the case itself. My plan is to add rubber feet to the back. Those aren't acutall blockers, just flat keys. I did buy blockers also though, in case the flat keys didn't work. I typically find the arrow keys by feel rather than sight and wanted something that would ...

I had some issues with a backwards diode, one bad switch, and a short due to a nick in the insulation but I have the "prototype" complete (typing on it now). I'm going to build another case in better wood and at least 5mm shorter. This one was more of a proof of concept.

You need the Teensy loader to load the .hex for the first time. Then the firmware can jump to the bootloader by itself and get programmed by scwr.

Ahhh, that was the step I was missing. The Easy AVR USB Firmware suddenly makes sense now too. So the first step is to load the included .hex file for ...

Sorry to drag this thread out of the deep but I am looking for guidance. I am just finishing up my Phantom and am about to start working on the firmware. I have downloaded Soarer's file and looked over the documentation but I think I'm missing something. From soarer's documentation for the convertor ...

Mine arrived yesterday. The stainless steel plate has a surprising amount of heft to it! Looks good. I'm working on the case now.

Ahh, I had forgotten that the phantom plate was/is intended to go into a filco case. It was odd they would be different sizes if they were all intended for screws. I'll probably fill the holes with solder as my plan right now (changes every day though) is to not have a case above the plate.

Just out of curiosity, what are the three holes below the function keys intended for? I have been browsing through as many pictures of phantom builds as I can and I haven't yet found a build that explains what those are for. Most simply cover them up with a case or leave them as they are.

Thanks for the offer! It was only like $2.99 for 20 of them shipped, so no great burden.

To follow-on with Chzel's generous offer, I would be glad to pass out some of the 20 I ordered as well if there is anyone needing a few. Just a small part of the list of required pieces, but if it helps ...

QFR case is probably the cheapest new case. It just needs one post cut to fit the Phantom plate. Maybe you can find a used case or board? I've seen used QFRs go for $50-60USD. Could also salvage switches and costar stabs from a full board.

I have a Phantom in a Filco case, and a QFR. Planning on ...

That is exactly the sort of thing I had in mind. I found a few sellers of the style there on the right and have an order in now. Looks good, is that the aluminum plate?

I was just about to reply that the narrowest holder I can find is 8mm/.3in. My plan was to drill the hole out a bit, and might need to still but not by much. Thank for checking.

Excellent! Thanks, again, for putting this together.

Does anyone know offhand the diameter of the two holes for the LEDs in the top-right corner? My cad skills aren't up to the task of figuring it out and I'd like to order some LED holders to have ready.

I bought a used G80-8100 from ebay and it came in this morning. I already have most of the switches removed (mx clear)...I probably should have paced myself. I'm going to have to wait without anything to do.

A QFR case seems like a good option to me, although the Filco cases are way higher quality. It's a bit of a shame to hack up a brand new Filco..

You can order extra top cases from Coolermaster, so you can experiment with the numpad area of the Phantom too.

I asked Cooler Master about this a few ...

It's not too late to order!
PM sent! Now I need to find some MX Clears.

Thanks!

I'm surprised at the interest level vs. the IC. Have you tried PMing people directly? I remember a few people joined to post in that thread so they're probably not checking DT.

You could try posting a GB thread over at Geekhack. I think GH is largely unaware that this GB is going on.

I'm one of ...
