Re: Looking for advice for HHKB topre switches
A cursory look at wiki/Topre_switch reveals that no, you can't use Cherry MX keycaps with Topre switches. Just compare the mount with wiki/Keycap_mount#Cherry_MX_mount.

@Jugostran
You'd do well adding pictures to the wiki so the evidences you find don't get lost. Threads here don't last forever, I've lost count of the number of wiki references pointing to DT threads that became dead.

Awful picture, sorry. I got what seems to be an NCR Decision Mate keyboard with RAFI hall effect switches. Very interesting linear switches, glad I'm finally getting to try them out. It's a shame one switch got broken in shipping. This is why you shouldn't use Hermes for shipping! :x http://i.imgur...

Re: iPad software keyboard: How to get ANSI left shift key?
It's baffling to see a regular ANSI Left Shift key in portrait mode and then a 1u Left Shift in landscape mode, that's for sure, but then this is Apple so everything is supposed to be fscked by design.

@tactica: Feel free to do with the pictures as you please. I'll upload some more shortly, including a timestamp. Sadly, I can't find the time these days for wiki maintenance. The blue sub-legends do not look like they are pad printed at all as there no 'embossed' quality to them at all. My guess is...

Neither the keyboard or the switch are documented in the wiki. Would you donate the pictures to science then?
More pictures wouldn't hurt either. Also, I take the blue sub-legends are pad printed?

Re: Cherry G81-1000 HBU
This is a Ukrainian layout so I assume the U stands for Ukraine. Hm... So the article on Cherry article numbers needs updating. U or US are documented to mean US layout, always. Hi. I received this keyboard from a man who in turn received it from a disbanded military unit (according to him). Accord...

Re: Cherry G81-1000 HBU
Unless I'm missing something HBU belongs to an ANSI keyboard so you're using keycaps from another keyboard?
Anyway, these photos (and at least these too) should be added to the wiki. We only have one picture for an ESA-3000 HASR0 keyboard and even that one was mislabelled as HASRO (with an Oh).

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Yet another switch that need identification :( https://deskthority.net/wiki/Codegen_Technology_CG-84A1 You have to open at least one, and possibly the one under the space bar too as the spring something is likely to be different. External looks alone don't help identifying Alps clones, and the pict...

Heh. I was thinking of the ITW switch when I suggested you to add the info yourself. Identifying an Alps clone is beyond my abilities, so far I haven't found a match in the wiki either. In a worst case scenario it will have to be filed as another unknown.

I'm currently spamming the wiki This kind of spam is most welcome. You just need to experiment with the "widths" value of the "gallery" tag so the box around the picture doesn't look out of proportion. We could use other gallery modes to avoid the box entirely (hint: try adding mode="packed" as a p...

DT wiki file upload intro in several languages
Hi, Whenever a user tries to upload a file to the Deskthority wiki, Mediawiki shows a form with a generic introduction. This intro was suboptimal for the current situation (literally thousands of unlicensed pictures stored, and people adding to that number) so I changed it at least for those using U...

There are actually three of us (Muirium, jsheradin and myself) relentlessy screening DT for spammers (or prospective spammers) based on certain criteria. Phpbb can be configured to automatically flag the first N posts from a new account as moderated so DT can be spared the embarrasment of looking like a new heaven for spambots. Of course this change must be done by an administrator.
