Custom wrist rest

Hey all, just got done making a wrist rest to suit my F AT. I previously made a wrist rest to suit my FC660C, but that was much too short and narrow to suit the AT. I wanted to do this on the cheap, luckily I had some foam left from replacing the assembly foam in the AT, I realised that would make f...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Are there any alternative 1.75u key legends? I tend to use the caps lock key as a function key, but a control legend would be fine too.

Re: Post a picture of your ideal keyboard layout!

Here's what I want to do with my AT, once the new caps from ellipse arrive. This will be pretty close to the perfect layout for me. https://shiftymcsly.files.wordpress.com/2019/02/keyboard-layout-3.png Note the compact nav cluster in the bottom right, I've been using that layout for ages on the home...

Strange, my other keyboard is a FC660C with hasu's replacement controller, which does not display either of these behaviours. I understand that #2 is pretty minor, and perhaps just a random result of the technical implementation, but #1 makes no sense to me, how would that ever be useful behaviour? ...

Problems with xwhatsit controller

Hey all, I got a model F AT a while back and couldn't get it working, so I ended up ordering an xwhatsit from orihalcon. It works, and I like the capsense software, but there are a couple of issues. 1 - key presses are re-sent when changing layers. Say I have a function key, that sets the keyboard t...

Thanks for the input guys! Here are some pictures, as I say, looks ok to me but I am no expert. The pcb is kinda warped as you can see in the last pic, but I don't think this would affect through-hole components much right? https://shiftymcsly.files.wordpress.com/2018/12/dsc000222.jpg https://shifty...

I've taken it apart completely, yes, couldn't see any obvious problems. I'm not too knowledgeable on electronics but I tested the keyboard's cable with a multimeter and couldn't see any problems there either.

Model F AT not working

Hey all, I got an F AT off of ebay a few weeks back, but I've had no luck getting it going. The seller said it was working when he last used it, but that was over 6 months ago. I ordered a soarer's converter off ebay, but had no response from the keyboard when plugging it in, from looking at HID lis...

I couldn't think of a better name, so Kaehi it is! I wrote a detailed article on my blog about the process of creating this layout for those interested - https://elliotgeorge.net/2018/11/22/the ... rd-layout/

I’d call it Kaehi because I’m kind of simple that way and was disappointed to see neither Dvorak nor Colemak contain their own names! I was thinking the same, and the kaehi section of the layout is definitely the most distinctive, but it's also super ambiguous as to how it should be pronounced, whi...

My new keyboard layout

Hey all, for a few months now I have been working on a new keyboard layout, and I think it's now complete! I got sucked into the layout wormhole after I started learning Colemak and just wasn't finding it comfortable. I created a scoring system that favoured movements I found to be comfortable, and ...
