Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Nothing bad has happened, I just didn’t use the keyboards enough and would rather pass them on. Funds are paying for some overdue tech upgrades and travel expenditures. I think I’ll still get my M15 to a particular YouTuber before I let it go. The memories are good enough with box white switches and...

Question, will you be selling your Pace VG-101? That one is of interest to me.
Yep.

(BTW, what is the mfg. date for the M?)
It's a Lexmark-produced M with IBM branding. Date: 3/14/96

Have you got the IBM M15 yet for sale?
It's Lexmark-branded so I won't be selling it.

Re: [Giveaway-ish] $50 Model F AT, Free Model M

I'm on it. So, the model F is a price but you have to pay for it? Yep, just to cover some time and materials. If it had arrived in good or restored condition it would be free now. Regardless, it's hard to call $50 anything other than giving it away when that's $150 to $250 less than the market rate...

The Hexgears X-1 Wireless Low Profile Keyboard Kickstarter Is Live

https://i.imgur.com/tHoIiWt.jpg Good news everyone! I'm still alive and kicking — I've been exploring other interests while working for Kono Store (which still keeps me involved with keyboards). We just launched the Hexgears X-1, a rather nice wireless keyboard, for one of our partner brands. It re...

Kbdfr's slanderous, toxic accusation that I'm shill bidding on my Videowriter auction is really getting under my skin. It might be meaningless to most people on the forum, but having my integrity questioned after the things I've done here (and how I've worked to be a fair seller on eBay) hurts. I ca...

I haven't ever run into this before. Even my minty DC-3014 didn't draw trolls, though I guess things have changed over the past few years.

IT IS NOT SHILL BIDDING, at least not from the seller. That Videowriter is my auction, and everything you've seen is the result of trolls or bidders with very shitty tactics.

Eh, I'm okay with it. Even vintage Browns didn't impress me much when I tried them. The caps look nice and, if you're lucky, you can get a consistent batch of Gaterons.

Navy Blues feel much more like Alps, along with Jades. The thicker click bar really makes a difference.

Without time on a Model M at the office, which measures around 70 - 75 grams, the Navies would have been unreasonably heavy. Finger training is necessary.

SKCM Brown Alps are another fine example of that. As are Kaihua Box Navys. Having it in clicky Alps form, however, would be neat.

That reinforces my theory about the Videowriter timeline. The branded case means that there is a chance of not getting Brown Alps... Now watch my unbranded one arrive and be rubber domes, just to spite me.

Yep. But they feel more refined overall due to the reduced upstroke tactility. Peek at Haata's graph of them vs. Box Whites and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah. I wouldn't do the Jade -- its spring is way too light. You're basically lifting your fingers up midstroke and waiting for the switch to catch up.

You should definitely look into Box Heavy Pale Blues instead.

The new one shows a peak force of 80g just before the break. https://plot.ly/~haata/415 I posted the old graph -- the new one is more accurate. My fingers back that peak force up. Thankfully it ...

Try watching the 8 Bit Guy video on retrobrite. He has some neat processes that might net you better results.
