Tandberg TDV-5010 Firmware history

I have now disassembled the firmware of a total of 4 versions of the TDV-5010 keyboard from Tandberg Data, and to make it easier to see all of the changes in the code I have put the codebase up as a git repository. I have verified that each commit re-assembles to the exact binaries of the respective...

WTB: Key Tronic Foam-and-Foil keycaps, dark grey numpad 1 and 9

Some of the numpad-keycaps were broken off a keyboard before I got it. Should anyone have some spare, incl. matching springs, I would be very happy to buy. ref. switch: https://deskthority.net/wiki/Key_Tronic_foam_and_foil ref. keyboard: https://deskthority.net/wiki/File:ND-224-1978-Telemuseet.jpg I...

Re: Re-routing custom keys on a Tandberg TDV 5000

I made a patch that will give you modern keys over the NOTIS-keys of this keyboard. You need to be able to program an 8051 compatible chip, but other than that it's pretty much plug and play. Please check out my post in the other thread for details: https://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?p=511066#p51...

Re: Need help with Tandberg TDV 5000

Quick update: I was able to dump v1.4 as well after some trickery, and the format of the tables are exactly the same. One thing to note, the addresses are different: 0x0ACE: Default key mode for scancode set 3 0x0C7C: Base scancodes for set 1 0x0CFC: Base scancodes for set 2 0x0D7C: Base scancodes f...

Re: Need help with Tandberg TDV 5000

A heads-up on a project I have been having lately: Patching the firmware to natively put out recognizable-keys instead of the NOTIS special-keys. It turns out to be very doable, given you have a fresh 8751 to burn, as well as a programmer. First of all, I have been able to read out the v2.1 firmware...

Reset password not working

I tried resetting my password recently. As expected, I received the email with the link to the form where I could enter a new one, but when clicking "submit" it took me to a page telling me something went wrong and that "An Error Occured" and "that the page you are looking for is currently unavailab...

Re: Control LED on a Tandberg TDV2200 keyboard

To continue the thread necromancy (I don't visit here very often), but I did reverse-engineer the command-set for this keyboard a while back. One thing which is very counter-intuitive is that while this keyboard sends at 2400 baud, it receives at only 600 baud. This is crucial, so you will need to u...

Re: Tandberg TDV 2200 S series

I'm sorry this might be a bit late, but I did successfully figure out how to interface this keyboard last year. The keyboard is for a terminal, designed for the Norsk Data Nord-100, and it originally connected to a screen with an RS-232 serial port interface. However, the interface between the keybo...

Thanks!

Yes, all the switches are black/brown with red sliders, no variation at all.

Inside the Siemens STB-11

I just had a look at my other Tiki-100, from ca. 1987, just before they stopped producing them. This has Siemens STB-11 switches with black/brown frame and red slider. The feel of the switch is that there is some resistence at first, but then it gives in just at the actuation point and it's linear a...

The force kicks up just BEFORE actuation. The secondary horizontal slider has to move first for the switch to make physical contact, and that requires the mentioned force. Not good for touch-type! That picture on Wikipedia is actually one of my machines! The exact unit in the picture is one of the f...

The Sasse 200MN Keyswitch

The Tiki-100 was a computer made and sold in Norway from around 1984 to the late 80s. Being designed by people who used to work for Norsk Data and Tandberg Data, it was originally intended for this machine to use Siemens STB 11 keyswitches like the Tandberg terminals. However, as this was too expens...
