thanks for the input! I am more interested in the way an brass plates impacts the feeling of the switches.. Brass is a dense and heavy metal - plate from brass will weigh more then steel (around 10-15%) and about 3-4 times more then aluminum. For that reason sound will "stay with in brass". So in t...

If you are concern about oxidation or metal it self there is plenty of ways to seal brass - even a coat of oil will do it for years. Carbon fiber is really toxic material - unless you have brass allergy I dont think it is anything to worry about. Especially for parts you dont touch. Personally I thi...

The "silent" variants have been reported to be smoother than the non-silent variants. I have a Corsair STRAFE RGB with Cherry MX Silent - and maybe they are smoother (for me they feel just a tad lighter), but they dont sound better then MX Red. Especially with o-rings, the predominant sound becomes...

I have been web developing for past 10 years, now at a CTO position, but I still do quite a bit of coding. My general advice for CSS / HTML or any type-heavy work would be a Cherry MX Black / Red / Topre, for JavaScript or PHP I would recommend Cherry MX Brown, IBM Model M or ALPS. For general fast ...

In Norway rollermouse is very popular and are often seen at office spaces. I can definitely say that it is great for any job where you use mouse more then you use keyboard. For general browsing, searching, windows gui heavy tasks etc., rollermouse is great. And if you do have pain in your hand or wr...

Those are not Alps SKCM. That slider looks like SMK Alps mount or some other clone. The wiki needs to be updated constantly, but few are actually putting in the work, most just like to talk about it. ;) Oh ok, thanks! I actually found A600 locally i iwll get in a weeks time. Will take a closer look...

@gcardinal: The question is, have you tried Topre yourself yet? Yes, I have purcased NovaTouch TKL twice - one used and one new from the local store (ISO both). So I have about 2-3 month of typing on it. I never owned a Realforce - but have tried it a few times. Just for clarification - I find Nova...

(Im just starting here, not 'pro', but here is my 2-cents). I had exactly the same starting point when I got into mechanical keyboards. Cherry MY - feels pretty bad and is exceptionally annoying ... I would give it 1/10 - just for not hurting my fingers. In todays score I got an not-working SGI Granite 9500900 for cheap. It also misses a space bar... Also try swapping keycaps between boards. For instance Cherry G80-1000 with thin cheapo keycaps is quite a different experience from thick original double shout keycaps. Also for instance with Cherry MX-Board 3.0 G80-3850 I never felt that I was hitting keys in the center - that coused a lot of "sid...
