Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

Ohh boy ohh boy! I am not sure how to feel about the refresh model, I am afraid there is too much potential for screwups. Let's take a look at the HHKB BT model, and its battery pack and "Modernised" case design. Not impressed, not at all... I hoped that it will grow on me at one point. 3 Years late...

I'd let her try high grade, freshly ground pour over coffee, medium roast. Once a person gets hooked by the complex flavours, adding sugar or creme would be just blasphemy.

Something you missed was the Boxpocalypse: https://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19509 I wouldn’t risk using any of those murderous wee buggers, no matter how much Elrick swears by them! Ohh god, I've prepared a set of dev/tty caps to moung on my latest cherry board, I am blown away by the qu...

Re: Realforce R2 PFU Limited Edition

The split right shift is the true powerhouse of the hhkb layout, I couldn't agree more. Even if they would leave the rest normal, with that fn key and programability the keyboard would really be something! I could stick to my HHKB style without the iconic cut outs on the bottom row but I wouldn't mi...

Re: Realforce R2 PFU Limited Edition

Man sounds absolutely amazing, my hhkb pro1 has been through a lot (literally). So now I wan't to turn it into it's final form. Therefore I was looking for something special and the BT mod came to my mind! I've checked few sources on the internet but sadly it seems that the pcb is out of stock every...

Ohh dude, I've seen the Gammaray singer almost kill himself after climbing a 20 meter hight stage sealing on a festival... crazy old man!

I really started to like Synthwave on a completely riced out linux for maximum nostalgic "Hackerman Vibes"

Re: Realforce R2 PFU Limited Edition

a RF with battery penis Nah. I find keyboards with internal genitalia much more refined . I have to agree! Do you use the Hasu BT controller? And how much battery life do you get out of it? I remember that it barely holds a day, is that still tru? I was thinking about making my Pro1 into a BT versi...

Re: Tokyo60 v1 HHKB-like Keyboard Kit

I've missed quite a bit lately, I don't know if I should be worried or happy about it? The last thing I found quite interesting was the kailh box switches with this quite new mechanism to make them tactile. That was something new, something refreshing but I didn't had anything to test them on. I hav...

Re: Deskthority header images v2

I've just checked the header.php the quality of my images seems to suffer a bit, did you had to upscale them? I've purposely downsized them on 1200x400 but I can add higher quality pictures. So that it doesn't look too pixelized.

Re: Realforce R2 PFU Limited Edition

@ Hypersphere I totally get what you mean! Once in a while I get my hands on cherry mx boards with a metal backplate and almost all of them ping and resonate because of the metal backplate. That's rather off-putting, especially once you got used to something soft like the HHKB, but on the other hand...

Re: Realforce R2 PFU Limited Edition

Overall, I give the Realforce a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It would be 5 stars if it had a detachable cable, complete programmability, 60% form factor, and a wider selection of keycap styles, perhaps as boxed sets that could be purchased separately and installed by the customer. Nice review! I had to ...

Honestly I don't care about reddit or geekhack. I couldn't agree more, I was just throwing this in because I still don't really know how to measure relevancy? Is it the popularity? The user base? The guests visiting? Or is it about running DT awards and having sponsorships with companies and gettin...

Tokyo 60 copper bottom plate

Hey there,

I am interested in swapping bottom plates with someone that has a copper Tokyo60.
My offering is a gunmetal bottom plate from the first drop. Or boring money, it's up to you.

Just send me a PM.

Cheers

Re: Tokyo60 v1 HHKB-like Keyboard Kit

For what it's worth, Zeal's silent switches have smaller and slightly harder dampeners than their Cherry counterparts, which some prefer since they tend to feel less mushy upon bottoming out. Pah, only noobs bottom out! It's disgusting! Ohh wait, all I do is bottoming out, but Topres are made the w...

Well I am a very special snowflake then, could also be that my job made me this way, who knows? To me content is king and not the flashy wrapping paper! Well warping on spacebars is no issue for me, I went total nuts on Matteos GB and ordered... uff too many? So I am fine in that regard, but good yo...

Re: µReview: Filco Majestouch 2 TKL with MX Silent Reds

No why should I? It's an honest review upright produced about a switch I wan't to know more of. And even better, they are not compared with some other mx type switches but instead with Topres, that's something you don't see so often in reviews. Anyways, I've already ordered a set of silent reds for ...

Re: Tokyo60 v1 HHKB-like Keyboard Kit

@cookie: The 67g Zeal switches actually feel rather light to me. Zeal's numbers refer to bottom-out force rather than actuation force. The actuation force is much less, although I have not yet seen any force-diplacement curves for their switches. I am really considering, but I read that their dampe...

My favorite switches are Topre 45g, for years now. I am curios if I will get used to a MX board again. I have mine sitting on my desk since the first drop, still haven't figured out what I am going to do with it. Caps are on their way but there is still to decide what switches I am going to use, I opt for mx silent red (pink) since their damening is much better than the gaterons. I think it's a very ...
