Is the capacitive sensing robust enough to work with modified layouts of circuit board? It seemed like there was a lot of tweaking to get the sensing to work in the "real world" of the actual PCB. Could I really just apply my novice skills of pcb design and come up with something that the controlle...

Lots to read there! Goodness, sensing high and low gets better and better. Glad to know about the flippers, would make the barrier to entry much easier. Still, I plan on proceeding with the PCB/diode design to make sure it works. Not sure how viable it will be long term given the membrane will be c...

Take a look at Xwhatsit's thread . And if you're interested, I think orihalcon is still selling assembled controllers with the firmware already flashed here . The controller is very easy to set up and use. If you're interested, I also recommend reading DMA's CommonSense controller thread , as that s...

I'm curious too. The capacitive matrix would be very simple, just a 4x12 grid; that would work with the Model F Xwhatsit. You could even incorporate an edge connector and use the beam spring version instead, with a firmware change to switch polarity. Either way, you would still get NKRO without havi...

BTW, I have to admit that I sometimes use the Wiki also as a way to quickly find links to other resources on the web, that I remember are linked from the Wiki, that I really should have bookmarked instead ... Yes, I agree the wiki is great for this, especially with pages pertaining to detailed spec...

A small follow-up: I want to thank orihalcon again for running the GB for the 66-key PCBs! He informed me that they all work fine, which is great! Also, at his and JP's request, I've begun work on a IBM 3740-series keyboard PCB, as well as one for the 5100-series keyboard. I'll periodically update t...

I haven't been on here in multiple months, but did reach out to DMA yesterday to start down our CommonSense path. I didn't realize we already had a logo, but threw this together on a plane trip several weeks ago. Not advocating it's use (I like DMA's) but posting here just for posterity (and I'll f...

Thanks, I will when I'm farther along on the restoration! The stems and springs are all rusted to some extent, need to disassemble and treat all the switches.wobbled wrote: ↑oh jeez good luck with that mate, please make a dedicated thread full of pictures of the progress!

I received this 3101 the other day.. It's in nasty shape, but not past the point of no return, fortunately. I'm looking into getting both halves of the case sandblasted and powder coated, probably the switch mounting plate as well. :) Full album: http://imgur.com/a/V82xB http://i.imgur.com/25qGn8k.j...

Looking forward to it! :) I'm still waiting for my own FAME board to come in! It's been on a long trip from Australia. Unfortunately, the deal on this fell through. I can pick up a new membrane from unicomp for about $15 usd. I'm just curious. A new Unicomp mat is a very thin white latex material that yields different and more lively characteristics. PS - be sure and refer to it as a "blanket" - in Unicomp parlance a "mat" is the silicone thing with rubber dom...

Yep, I think this is definitely a Tai Hao clone of some sort. The caps stand out to me as Tai Hao's Cherry profile clone, especially with the slashed 0s. There was a Keytrak board that didn't have slashed 0s that I noticed a while back too though. Interesting. From a glance, the keycaps appear to b...

I will be picking up this Cherry MX? XT keyboard. Can somebody identify this? After doing some snooping, I originally thought I was maybe looking at a G80-0414. However, the only label on the back is a "Made in Taiwan R.O.C." which makes no sense. Maybe it's a TH-series keyboard? Sorry about the poo...
