Re: so... ARM on your next computer

Well, Linux on Arm is done - the Pinebook is a wonderfull piece of geeky laptop. running with Manjaro it is my wet dream of a notebook. Shame on Lenovo that their laptops are as good as they were, my T60p is still up an running (albeit a new battery, but thats that) - otherwise a pinebook would be s...

[WTB]KBD75v2 (or compatible) case, plate, stabs

Well, hi, why not give it a try... I have a KDBv2 PCB, Switches are also available, as well as several Keycaps. I would love to give it a try, so I would need a case and a plate. I am also low on GMK-stabs and would also need those, but the stabs are definately less of a problem. I should also add t...

Unfortunately it is the right of every user to get his whole account deleted - deleted in "everything gets purged". This is definately not a ban. A ban can be undone.

Programmable Macropad (or suitable Linux solution) needet.

Heya allmighty DT, I come in search of wisdom. And answers. I need a Macro Solution. The requirements are quite "low": Press a Button, Button will be toggled in a loop with a repeat timer. Timer must be configured, not fixed. Press Button again, Loop stops. I use Linux on the respective computer, an...

Re: IBM Model F, M, and HHKB

HHKB is comparable in the case of size factor and feel (and portability), but everything else it loses completely no doubt. But you could also say that a beam spring wins with build, keys, feel, and sound, but you still have to take account the usability. Ya, your right, but if I compare, I do a fu...

Re: IBM Model F, M, and HHKB

I would'nt consider the cheap HHKB with something like the F. With the M before a full restoration - okay. To be fair, one must then compare a fully moxdded HHKB with the M, but even then it is jast Dvid against Goliath, and Goliath wins this with ease. Better Keys, better Build, and beside the rive...

Re: Are there any boards with the f77 layout? /what is that layout called?

There is something similar (imho even better - at least layout wise, I do NOT speak of build quality as we have to wait for Ellipse to ever see something similar again)) available from CoolerMaster - the Masterkeys Pro M. See the Review from Chyros here: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/ksMYG9...

Re: The Deskthority community it so much nicer than reddit

Many people expect a stricter moderation, in return you end up with a more "family friendly" environment. I believe we are cutting out a little audience by being more liberal. On the other hand I believe that DT philosophy is a filter per-se, if you can't handle other people's opinion and you are o...

Heya, I have GMK Dolch Keyset, unused, waiting for its board to arrive. When I originally bought this set I had a Fullsize in mind - but the board will be a 70... So I need some caps, which I do not have in the correct row, all in German, namely: R2 1U "Bild *Pfeilnachoben*" R3 1U "Bild *Pfeilnachun...

I know of this issue, but I also have read about the trouble when using the configurator, as I have unfortunately rev2. I have read one issue with flashing iso rev1 on rev2: FN will be unbound. No bootloader anymore. Kinda sucks :/ If the configurator would have had an lyout available in ISO for rev...

Re: QWERTZ SA Caps

I sport this set on my Filco, and beside the unusual font they are quite the SP SA set. They are 3-3-3-4-4, so not fully sculptured, and they are in a deep brown, no true black. I do like them very much, and given the price and the availability of ISO-DE sets this kit is a no brainer, imho.

Re: ISO users

I do use ISO-DE, and I will stick to it forever. Allthough I do programming, and allthough I can touch type to a certain degree I cannot touch type in multiple different layouts. I work in quite a large company, we have "desk sharing". Yes I can bring in my own keyboard, but YES it has to be ISO-DE.
