Different people like different things. Shocker.

I prefer 60% and do in fact use the Home through Page Down cluster constantly. I like them right there in the alpha block with a function key. I even reach for them, HHKB style, on TKL and full-size boards. Muscle memory wins.

... remapping) swap the 0 and . keys. I tested several other options, but muscle memory inhibited most. The problem with this, of course, is to have a 1U 0 and a 2U . . That's why on my "dream" numpad (of which I've talked before ) both keys would be 1.5U in size.

... the same set of mods across all my keyboards, including the laptop’s built-in. That did the trick. Muscle memory is king. Learn by doing. Often! :lol:

Tarmak is an intriguing idea for incrementally building muscle memory. The week or two I tried learning Colemak some years ago was excruciating, as you’ve likely already heard, so this approach is definitely worth trying.
