Model M2 Additional Sticker

IMG_7171.jpg I just started getting into the hobby and ran across this broken M2 that I am going to repair but upon disassembly I noticed that it had what looks like two manufacturing stickers on the back. At first I thought maybe the board had been sent in when the board was under warranty and per...

I have just made an additional blog post regarding a potential group buy for the Deskthority site: Interesting proposal. I'm not entirely sure how some people here might take to the idea of contributing monetarily to a group-buy where they don't end up owning some kind of stake, or where the owners...

The front page of the website ( https://www.modelfkeyboards.com ) says "2/29/24 please have your orders in by then!" Does this date apply to orders for the F122? Next month it will just say "3/31/24 please have your orders in by then!" if we assume it does the same thing, that it has done the past ...

Re: Beam Spring 104+SSK Reproduction Project! First Batch In Stock, Shipping early next year after New Model F Project

Yeah, and my mainframe work needs all 24 F-keys...and the delete, end, PgUp, and PgDn keys are ones I use all the time. As a fellow mainframer I agree. I also need the 10 f-keys on the side. Given the massive amount of "keyboard" space my monitors create. and the hassle of layers, I simply can't ge...

Stunning! 8-)

I’d try to use the 24 (currently) blank keys around the display to drive its interface, as their presence there is crying out for just that use. Quite a software design job to implement, though, so you’re forgiven the placeholder keys.

Review of Unicomp PC122 USB

Unicomp’s offerings are somewhat well known in enthusiast circles, but larger keyboards are currently not en vogue and there is much less information out there regarding the 122 key terminal keyboards by Unicomp. So here are some thoughts from a Linux user who does not mind using screwdrivers and ha...

Re: Has anyone Retrobrited an AEK or AEK II

I retrobrited a few AEK's M0115 and a bunch of M0116/18, it won't affect the logo coloring, if you keep it under 24 hours. I would not recommend high-concentration, 50% of 11 or 12% peroxide & 50% deionized/distilled water. Use some weights, tightened with clear fishing line. 4 weights, one in each ...

You can now order one of the new Raspberry PI based Mini-M Controllers from Unicomp

Why would you want to do this? The big reason is that someone ported QMK/VIA to it. So, if you already own a Mini-M, you can do a controller swap, flash QMK/VIA onto it, and get a programmable Mini-M. I placed my order this afternoon. Unicomp wants $24.00 for the part, which is a lot cheaper than ot...

Keys are virtually identical. Good job! PXL_20230605_224830427.jpg The only visible difference is larger grippers (wider to simplify the mold and ~0.1-0.2mm higher). Makes keys harder to insert, but also holds them in place tighter. There's also a vertical parting line behind the gripper - hard to t...
