Not quite film/TV but here's Mila Jovovich using a Model M during an AOL chat in 1995.

Re: Keyboards in movies/TV series!
IBM model B 5251 in Italian (neapolitan) cult comical movie of '80s.
That's a typical case of lost in translation. I don't think any of you have never watched such a lovely movie whose title is "pacco, doppio pacco e contropaccotto" that should sound something like "Fraud, double fraud and counter cheat".
Have a dive into classic South Italy commonplace culture (pizza, mafia e mandolino).

Re: Keyboards in movies/TV series!
You can see Model Ms in the Stargate control room in many episodes.sharktastica wrote: 03 Mar 2021, 01:41 Model M in Stargate SG-1: Season 2, Episode 15 - "The Fifth Race". Seen around 16 and a half minutes in, during the scene where Jack O'Neill is entering new Stargate addresses into the computer.
I started watching Stargate SG-1 in 2007 when it got picked up by a "basic cable" channel over here. I wanted to check it out because a friend of mine who had died suddenly a couple of years before had been a really big fan. The show had inspired him so much that he had enrolled at a university course in Egyptology.
I had known him because we were also Star Wars fans. He had been active on comics message boards where he had befriended Star Wars comics authors and artists, so much that his board-name got included in a frame of a comic book as the name of one of several Jedi fallen during the Clone Wars.
However, as a sad coincidence ... the issue of the comic book got written and sent to the printers right before but got out into stores right after his abrupt death, making it much too timely.

Re: Keyboards in movies/TV series!
This is my favorite TV show when I was a teenager! I remember watching every episode. And now I only remember some of the characters, and I probably don’t remember the plot, because I’ve watched so many different films. You should definitely watch this show again!sharktastica wrote: 03 Mar 2021, 01:41 Model M in Stargate SG-1: Season 2, Episode 15 - "The Fifth Race". Here's a white label Model M in Chain Reaction (1996). Keanu Reeves is trying to shut down an overload.
Strangely, left ALT is missing.

Another shot of a Model F from Space Mutiny via MST3K. Note the conspicuously absent IBM logo:
That beam spring explosion is rough. I put that up there with the needless destruction of the Lamborghini Miura in the beginning of the original Italian Job.

Contact (1997)
Ellie Arroway (Jodie Foster's character) at Arecibo radiotelescope:

Computer is an IBM PS/2, with an ITT XTRA/101 keyboard...

...and what appears to be a Microspeed PC-Trak Trackball

Later on, at the New Mexico VLA, we see a very dirty Apple Extended Keyboard II.

There's also this unit with a Big Ass Enter key, which I haven't been able to identify.

During the climax sequence, the control room is equipped with a sizeable number of Kinesis keyboards (that specific model evades me, however):

Rise of the Centaur has a couple sightings that I've noticed.
Glenn Henry (one of the founders, and the president of Centaur Technology) is shown as having a beige Unicomp Customizer or Classic 101 (he is an IBM Fellow...): And Suresh Hariharan's (another Centaur engineer) very aggressively tented) Model M15: (It's a thinly veiled VIA CPU ad, but it's quite interesting to watch for many reasons.)

Congratulations. Now you know how infuriating Mad Men is to watch for period fashion experts. THAT NEVER CAME OUT THAT YEAR WHAT WERE THEY THINKING I CAN'T EVEN
Those keyboards look and sound 1980 to everyone who hasn't caught the Model F bug hard enough to check the history. Next you'll be accurately dating cigarette packets and garter belts! It's all a matter of expertise…

Some keyboard discrepancies I noticed while watching Pirates of Silicon Valley about a month back while I was looking to buy a Model F.
Scene starts out with a close up of Bill Gates typing on what looks like a Model F XT.
Then zooms out to show him typing on a Model F AT.
And to top it off, the scene takes place in 1980 before Microsoft had pitched DOS to IBM and before either the XT or AT were first made.

Hmm.. I looked around a little for that last one. It is apparently a late-model Xerox Star workstation keyboard but the top case must have been painted. The same layout can be seen here.

Somebody finally uploaded the Hawaii Five O (1974-75) episode, Computer Killer. It's one of the earliest TV examples of computer hacking - and it's pretty realistic too.
There's the ADDS Envoy a Lockheed System III an IBM 1052 console for System/360 and whatever the hell this is There are also a couple Model 33 Teletypes and various big computer tape drives.
