... Now for this board I screwed up aligning the top and bottom chunks but otherwise, it came out really nice. All of the shapes are (mostly) solid, it's fairly crisp/clear, and even the little itty bitty components are intact.

... and the very, very crisp feedback, but I hate where the ` and \ keys are located. The spacebar spring mod (which is nothing more than slightly bending its large metal spring), worked wonders on its feel.

So long as you design a stab-free layout with your own typing preferences in mind, I'm sure it can work just excellently. The key is to put the centre of the caps, and therefore the switches, just where your fingers expect. It's worth it for itty-bitty space bars!
