Kailh BOX Red switch review
A pretty decent switch. A much-needed improvement from the original Kailh Red.

Tecware Pearl Teal switch review
The Tecware Pearl Teal is a bog-standard switch from Tecware. This is one of those “it’s good enough” type of switch, but is otherwise unremarkable.

Tecware Pearl Clear switch review
The Tecware Pearl Clear is a fully transparent switch that competes with the Gateron Black in the price and spec categories. Also, I am aware of that these aren’t the first, nor will it be the last “transparent” switch to hit the market.

Re: Little Professor Famiclone mess [alps style slider KPT]
I just bought a board with the KPT Blues and they are pretty rough feeling even though the board itself didn’t appear to be heavily used. But the caps on yours look pretty awesome. Plus, they haven’t yellowed yet, so I think it’s worth it for that alone. Also, the wiki: https://deskthority.net/wiki/...

The Tecware Pearl Purple switch review
The Tecware Pearl Purple is essentially a lighter tactile switch in comparison to the Pearl Salmon, but they almost feel like linear switches when typing at normal speeds. I guess, it’s a worthy MX Brown upgrade, but I still don’t know who this is really for.

Re: Tecware Pearl Salmon switch review
I’m glad the wobble test was useful. Also, it really wouldn’t be fair to compare these to Alps Salmon switches. Complicated Alps switches are different beasts entirely! Once I’ve collected a decent number of Alps boards, I can do reviews on them. I’m still on the hunt to find a clean AEK with Salmon...

Tecware Pearl Salmon switch review
The Tecware Pearl Salmon is a new Holy Panda clone at a more affordable price point. Disappointingly, it’s not available worldwide. Also, since these are brand-new to the market, I will update this description if anything notable changes.

Re: Thoughts on SMK 2nd gen switches?
The “Monterey” clicky Alps mount switch is very nice. I consider it to be one of the better clicky switches out there. A little stiffer than Blue Alps, but still smooth. However, I can’t say the same about the inverse mount tactile switch. The ones in my board are quite scratchy, and they weren’t as...

Re: Kailh BOX White switch review
This is what the 'Blue Cherry' switch should've been like. The distinct clicky-feel without excessive reverberation. Oh yes. 100% The MX Blue, or rather, the MX White wasn't even supposed to be a clicky switch in the first place! No wonder why its a terrible design. I hope to never see anymore new ...

Kailh BOX White switch review
The Kailh BOX White is now a 5-year-old clicky switch design, but it’s still better than the Cherry MX Blue in my opinion…as in, if you’re still using the MX Blue, go and give these a try.

Re: Coolest keyboard find of 2021?
This Ortek MCK-142Pro...and it doesn't even have 142 keys despite the name. It has Alps White which is less cool. But I think it's a still a beast of a board.

Outemu Orange switch review
The Outemu Orange is a light tactile switch which doesn’t do a whole lot to distinguish itself from rivals. It’s not a bad switch though, just very ‘meh’. Yes, this was copied and pasted from the Outemu Purple’s description section.

Re: Damped White Alps
Questions: * How uncommon are damped white Alps? Rarer than the Cream damped from my experience seeing AEK II boards on sale, and ones I've owned. * How should they compare to cream damped? I have two AEK II boards, one with Cream damped Alps and the other with White damped Alps, both in similar co...

SP-Star Polaris Purple switch review
The SP-Star Polaris Purple is a middle ground switch that slots in between the Cherry MX Brown (clones included) and the Durock T1. It’s a nice starter switch for those just getting into the hobby and don’t want to explore vintage keyboards.

NovelKeys Blueberry switch review
The NovelKeys Blueberry is a very heavy tactile switch with an elongated tactile bump – a unique feature for an MX design. The switch overall is too scratchy, especially for 80p per switch.

Re: Which generation of Fujitsu Leaf Spring is this?
Ah, it was you who outbid me on this! I was also puzzled by this board but attracted by FLS without the need of internally converting it. How do the switches feel? I have a battered 3rd gen leaf spring board and I love the feel. Like Futaba but a little less smooth (on my board at least) but more t...

Frankly, I wish it was available in more modern keyboards. Because you’re a finger sadist? ;) Well, I did manage to beat Dirt Rally when it came out on a cheapo rubber dome board when everyone back tend told me it was only really playable with a “proper setup”… So maybe, more of a masochist?
