Heh, I got into smartwatches. Got Gear S3 the other day, but I have to wait a few weeks to actually put my hands on it, so I got Gear Fit2 in the meantime as well :)

On my XTant I use binder clips handles on one side to clamp down on the stabiliser wire and I'm quite satisfied with the result.

Which protocols would top your list to add to Soarer's Converter?
Nitpicking, but It would be nice if hasu's had support for PC-8801 and Xerox Docutech.

Yeah, it's quite rare. People over on http://www.ibmtypewriters.com/ don't have one for instance.

How can you pass up a model F, whatever the condition is?! If anything, springs and flippers are useful to all of us here :)

Is anyone else having issues when trying to remap Soarer's converter run keyboard using Mac's own modifier keys remapping? I tried assigning Option key to Command, but it's not working - Option key still registers. Edit: Same is true when using a generic PS/2 -> USB adapter, so I guess it has to do ...

Maybe off-topic but I deal more with controller's these days, and what I'm missing the most from hasu's is actually not concerned with keyboard functionality but with workflow: - soarer's controller has custom tool to upload keymaps, which with Pro Micros means I don't have to play with RST pin to r...

On-topic, I realised today I missed Mac Portable for some $50 from Poland. Listing was in January when I didn't even know I want it, but it still hurts a bit.

Thanks on the info. The board itself doesn't have LEDs, so that's not an issue, and I just might do what you proposed. In the meantime I actually mapped caps lock key to Ctrl and disabled the latching mechanism. Still, it would be helpful if this could be achieved.

I hope this is the case with my Pro Micro as well. I double-checked everything, including pull-ups, but no life from the board. I ordered a couple of new pro micros, so we'll see.

Does soarer's controller/converter support locking keys in any way? I tried mapping a locking caps lock key on my board to 'LOCKING_CAPS_LOCK' but then the key is simply not functioning. Setting it to 'CAPS_LOCK' works, but I then need to release the lock key and press it again to exit CAPS LOCK mod...

Yeah, sound is definitely different. Less ping reverb or something similar. It's maybe a little less loud as well, but still quite loud though. Note that this is an F PCB in M assembly, and probably only louder BS board I have heard is i$'s FSSK, which is in a league of its own.

You can try newer boards with Matias switches which are comparable to (good condition) bamboo switches. With Alps, condition is everything, and depending on your preference for linear or tactile I'd recommend either a SKCL green or SKCM orange respectively. There are more exotic and "better" alps sw...

I got 2 separate macintosh portable keyboards (one ANSI and one ISO), and both are salmon Alps switches http://deskthority.net/wiki/Alps_SKCM_Salmon, just like the ones in the pictures in this thread. Except the ISO enter uses a skinny green linear switch instead: http://deskthority.net/wiki/Alps_S...
