Re: Wish me luck...
Can't believe people are recommending theft so blatantly.
It's wrong on so many levels. With the only goal being to satisfy egoistic desire.
Just ask. And if the answer is no just move on, and buy one yourself.
Have some honor.

Re: Honest opinion on beamspring boards?
You have no idea, I've been wanting to try these for a while, but I can't find any sources of them! It does take time and patience not gonna lie. But simple search "olympia es" on ebay is a good start. Currently there are two available. One in Washington for 100$ or best offer. Local pick up though...

Re: Honest opinion on beamspring boards?
Best switch there is. Someone described it as cracking an egg shell with your fingers. Very crisp, smooth. Granted I do have very limited experience with one of those. Their biggest disadvantage (by modern standards) is how tall they are. Which ironically is also the biggest strength. I doubt it cou...

[EU][WTT] Magnavox for F122
Hello. Keyboard from Magnavox VideoWriter in very good condition. Wanted to convert it initially, but truth be told I'm not going to use it anyway. Not cleaned, switches feel fine. https://abload.de/img/20200112_14475153jh7.jpg https://abload.de/img/20200112_1448057rknd.jpg https://abload.de/img/202...

Yes, provided you have the physical space for the switches.

Re: How do I make a 58-key matrix that works with a Pro Micro?
Just ignore the "Schematic" part of the guide and follow the rest I guess. When you get to the Routing paragraph, align the traces to correspond to the Pro Micro pinout. https://deskthority.net/wiki/Arduino_Pro_Micro. Or maybe try handwiring method first. It'll be way easier, and it is great learnin...

Re: How do I make a 58-key matrix that works with a Pro Micro?
No it is for the chip alone. Pro Micro has all the necessary stuff built in (like crystal, capacitors, resistors).
And has 18 pins available for use so up to 80 keys (10x8). So the only thing left is trace management and diodes.

I'm confused. You want to use Pro Micro as a daughter board or 32U4 chip integrated into pcb itself?

Re: Blue Alps Kickstarter and prototype Discussion
Maybe something along the lines of "modifying" matias switches would be easier to do. Instead of building whole switch from the ground up.
Long switchplates (do they fit matias housing?) and click leafs for a starter.
Then the top housing with slits...

Re: What should green alps feel like?
So, I polished that and I confirm it's becoming smooth again, but doing it properly, not altering much of the geometry there... it's an OCD-kind of activity... 30 mins per switch sometimes? Got to ask what did you use to polish those sliders? Would assume something like stropping paddle (piece of l...

Re: What should green alps feel like?
Has anyone tried to polish the side of a alps slider ? To get rid of any roughness or scratchiness that results form wear ? Polishing sides wont do much. Some people do recommend gently rounding the corners at the bottom of the slider. Never tried that myself so cannot attest if this helps or not.

Re: Rub out secondary marks of keycaps
The best way to go about it is to sell or trade those caps for normal ones.
You have DS caps with Cyrillic letters which is trendy. I'm sure someone will want those.
Or as title suggest... you can rub out the pad printing (literally) with your fingers.
But you will get shine on them afterwards.

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Got the board without more couple days ago. In my first thought, its a 5251 beam spring or some kinda variant, but now I know it's not. Its much shorter than a nornal 77-key beam, more like being from a nondetachable device with case gone, so anybody here could give some help for identifying? Thank...

That's such a beautiful job. How much did you paid for the custom case? Thanks! It was around 41 bucks for 2 pieces. I'm guessing bottom plates will be similarly priced. Since it'll be less laser cutting, but thicker .(4mm vs 2mm). Been a bit busy last night. https://abload.de/img/20191223_232522gv...

So... when can we expect new "fridge magnets" project?
On more serious note. Nice find, hope that at least one of those CRTs is in good working condition.
They do look cute.

It’s a trading organisation, on a slow and winding path to federalism. But the U.K. is a different beast. I think you are underestimating the current power and the speed of the path , but in any case, now you're arguing short term. In the long term, if the UK is a beast now, the EU will become that...

I'm gonna go out on a limb on this one.
Buckling spring, plate spring >>>> click leaf...
It's a flawed design, if it's not part of mechanism itself.
