I know focus went through a bunch of different changes to that keeb, and was hoping that someone knew what kind of switch happened after windows keys but before ps2. reading the wiki more closely it looks like there are only 2 possibilities and none of them are alps. Should still be a god board eith...

I know it's a focus 2001, but is there any way to tell which switches are in there? It uses a din5 connector if that helps.

Got some Creative speakers today to add to the setup so I fished out my Sony Mavica to get a pic while it was (relatively) clean.

https://i.imgur.com/TXtIY7H.jpg https://i.imgur.com/2p6DpZu.jpg Picked it up from goodwill for next to nothing since it clacked. It is dome and slider like I expected, and appears to use mx mount. I haven't powered it on yet (don't have batteries or the ac adapter) but It typed much better than I w...

I haven't tried SKCL greens actually so I couldn't say, but these have a rather high actuation point so they are very easy to accidentally press. These are smooth and the slight tactility you get after actuation is pretty nice. The beeper on mine works and I like that it gives me audible feedback so...

They are ~1 cm in diameter and came out of a Smith Corona XE 5000 which uses Mitsumi switches. The caps use a cross mount that should be compatible with a bunch of Mitsumi stuff.

Pngmaster External Coil Spring Mod

https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/55a5/sk1rhzv7827vovjzg.jpg?size_id=3 I felt that the switches in the pingmaster were to light so I made them heavier using some coli springs I had laying around from a mechanical typewriter. I did this to prevent an issue I've been having with the pingmaster wherei...

I've seen someone do a mod somewhere where mx switches are added and adapters are used to make the c64 caps work. So you could certainly turn it into a very nice keyboard and still keep full functionality in case you want to do anything with an old c64.

Does anyone know about either of these? The pcb of the bottom one has "Mistumi 56 8152 a" on it but I wasn't able to find any info on that.

It's such a nice looking typewriter that it'd be a shame to harvest the caps and ditch the rest. If it were non-functioning then I could see that, but it appears to work great.

If you do just keep the caps at least put it in an orange case.

What exactly makes them impractical? I'm assuming its the cap height but I could be mistaken.
