Re: CommonSense quick-start / noob's guide
Click "Scan" in Flight controller. It's grayed out, you can see it next to "Unsafe". "Scan" must be in green before you can set thresholds. Click on it multiple times until it turns green. Once green, click on "Threshold" and then follow DMA's guide on "Configuring Keyboard" K I've gone through the...

Re: CommonSense quick-start / noob's guide
Just finished wiring everything up and tried to test. I'm getting absolutely nothing in flight controller, but I can't tell what I've done wrong. The only thing I can point to is some error in Flight controller saying something like "Scan module has gone insane and had to be shot." Does anyone have ...

Re: CommonSense quick-start / noob's guide
I'm starting to try and convert my beamspring using common sense because I've given up on the xwhatsit (can't do the SMD soldering). I have a question, because I'm getting conflicting results from the (available) documentation and the project page, which is do I still have to modify the controller (...

Re: Help converting Zenith Data Systems to USB with Soarer's Converter?
ah, so glad to hear you got this working! i was gonna pipe in and say that there's a big ol bug in the form of a debug statement in the middle of an interrupt routine that causes the QMK converter to bug out. if you remove that statement it works just fine. no idea why its there, or why someone tho...

Re: Help converting Zenith Data Systems to USB with Soarer's Converter?
I might have missed but did you try hasu's xt_usb - https://github.com/tmk/tmk_keyboard/tree/master/converter/xt_usb as this one is reported to be working. Well I tried this, and it seems to be working perfectly. I'm typing this message out on the Zenith. I'll use the keyboard for a bit and update ...

I think you're probably right. I can't remember about the slits, but they definitely have the simplified contact mechanism without the white part.

If that's okay, I'm starting my own sell thread. This is the first round, and it's distinctly possible I'll add more down the road. If mods have an objection to this, let me know. For all items, I only want paypal and buyer pays shipping. I'm working on packing all of these items up and will update ...

Re: Help converting Zenith Data Systems to USB with Soarer's Converter?
Ok, Made progress, but definitely not at the finish line yet. First off, I wired up the Zenith to the Teensy. I needed to use a Teensy because this keyboard needs the reset wire connected, which goes at PB7, which the pro micro doesn't have. After that, I tried a couple things. I downloaded the [Zen...

Re: Help converting Zenith Data Systems to USB with Soarer's Converter?
Play with this: http://www.tmk-kbd.com/tmk_keyboard/editor/unimap You can make a hex file with this graphical editor directly. Hasu made TMK much friendlier for most of us when he developed Unimap. Even I can use it now! I will, but I'd nonetheless really like to understand how to modify they keyma...

Re: Help converting Zenith Data Systems to USB with Soarer's Converter?
Here's what I've gathered: I could try Soarer's Converter, with the reset line wired in (white wire? where?) and pull up resistors (1k between data and clock and VCC and ground?), but it seems flaky with this keyboard. Seems that TMK is my best bet, and it looks like someone has already used TMK to ...

Help converting Zenith Data Systems to USB with Soarer's Converter?
Hi, I'm trying to convert a Zenith data systems to USB using Soarer's converter. Here is a gallery of images showing how I wired up the keyboard to my microcontroller: https://imgur.com/a/7GMw7yj Steps I've taken: Flashed 'Soarer_at2usb_v1.12_atmega32u4.hex' to my pro micro (probably) clone . Tested...

Re: xwhatsit beamspring converter board "not found"
(although that's probably down to bad soldering, but who knows, you know?) Oh, don't worry. If you pass the "solder it correctly" part - you'll just unlock level 2. The boss on level 2 is "find a threshold which reliably registers keypresses and yet doesn't spuriously fire when I don't press anythi...

Re: xwhatsit beamspring converter board "not found"
I am not a "great expert", neither I play one on TV. It's just I mostly know when I don't know things - and PCB mapping without PCB in hand is one of those. I literally can't know all the variants (or even technologies) of all the keyboards CS _may_ support (see, for example, Sandgrax's foam-and-fo...

if you're into esoteric hardware, you should know about those things. Dude, no. That is an unacceptable attitude, and you are not going to be well liked if you carry on that way. The saying about making assumptions comes to mind. You may be some great expert, and were sorry that we aren't as brilli...

Re: [Done] CommonSense controller - better capsense!
you should figure that out yourself. Who knows what pinout _your_ PCB has. You misunderstand the question entirely. I'm not asking for the problem of my specific keyboard to be solved, I'm asking for the general steps that need to be taken, the logic that needs to be followed, to wire the board pin...

@PancakeMSTR what part of picture is unclear? @JP! - yes, ExpHdr pins are for that. ExpHdr_0 and ExpHdr_2 will be solenoid driver active pins if you select "solenoid" in hardware setup. CY8CKIT-059 The what? Is that the commonsense controller? I've sort of subscribed myself to the xwhatsit already, but if I can't get it to work I'll go with commonsense. It doesn't help that there is no particularly clear guide for how to use the commonsense controller, or how to hook up the soleno...
