Re: Unicomp's new RP2040/Pico controller purchasing & flashing Vial-QMK guide
The PCBs are thicker but they still fit. I also installed one in my 2014 GE Medical Unicomp. You just need to use a worrying amount of force and come in from the right angle. I mean...I guess I can try yet again? But I've already tried a handful of times, and yes also changing up the angle of appro...

I mentioned this in a Reddit thread that has gotten zero responses thus far, causing me to conclude that nobody else has yet tried this (which seems a little surprising?), buuuuuuut... ...contrary to Sharktastica's otherwise-excellent and very helpful write-up which suggests that these new "Aristide...

Re: Classic Style FSSK Model F vs. Unicomp Mini M
Well to begin with, the Classic Style FSSK isn't even shipping yet. It's in a pre-order phase. Kinda hard for anybody to write a "comparison" between products when nobody has yet been able to get their hands on at least one of the contenders, so I'm not sure why you are expressing surprise that you ...

My real dream converter would be a single metal box with AT, PS/2, ADB and NeXT ports across one side, a USB C socket on the adjacent side*, and some mounts so I can screw it to the underside of my desk. So, basically, the exact opposite of this thing :) : https://www.tindie.com/products/dekunukem/...

What I’d really like to see is RP2040 support for QMK powered controllers (for regular non-capsense keyboards, too) and especially converters for PS/2 vintage keyboards, with a modern interface to match. The Leyden Jar firmware source is built on top of QMK, just as pandrew's xwhatsit-for-QMK is. T...

The Arkku calibration routine adds a whopping 3K of additional code to QMK, compared to pandrew's. My builds of Vial were already on the tight side, with only ~1K of space to spare.
