Rafi Express 2

Thanks to [DMA] I actually know a bit about this keyboard (he'll be able to enlighten further if he peruses). It's a terminal keyboard used on the Express 2 line in Russia (or Soviet Union when it was actually built). The keyboard itself is really odd, because Rafi is a German Company (and I don't b...

Kiibohd 17 - Bay Area Keyboard Meetup - 2016/09/24

Yes! Time for another Bay Area keyboard meetup. Massdrop being the awesome hosts that they are, offered to host again. (though I have been investigating some other venues to mix things up a bit) Saturday September 24, 2016 @ 1 PM Massdrop HQ 100 Bush Street, Suite 1000 San Francisco, CA 94104 BART i...

The kinetis stuff doesn't really need a crystal for USB. The original Infinity 60% keyboard didn't use one. Though the clock won't be to USB spec. But yeah, as for the crystal, on most (all) kinetis chips, you just need to add the crystal, it has built in load capacitors.

So, yes, I agree (I've also tried doing selective sending of portions of the hid descriptor to optimize the actual data transfer). Unfortunately, the main reason why not a lot of other descriptors have been tried...OS compatibility. Linux, Windows and Mac all have their own unique non-conforming HID...

Hmm, with an RJ-11 it's likely completely different.

My old converter code is here -> https://github.com/kiibohd/controller/b ... can_loop.c
I might have a pinout drawing around, but I'll have to dig a bit.

I don't know who made this switch, but it's most definitely not Japanese. The keyboard is from around 1989/90.

Here's a rather nice soviet hall effect clone. I've known about this one for a long time, but it's taken until now for me to get my hands on one. Seems to have been made in Czechoslovakia in 1988. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1496/24420357969_3713a5c97d_k.jpg DSC04318 https://farm2.staticflickr.co...

this is something that had to be done, I'd like to help but I'm afraid you are flying well over my head here :) Not sure how people feel about installing a driver, but I guess who really needs UTF-8 is already used to install additional software. Using minimal hardware on the keyboard end of things could cut custom build costs quite a bit, though I'm not sure how interested I'd be in relying on an additional driver. This is for the things we can't do without a driver. The main example is UTF-8, it's just not possible to do using USB HID, so...

:D This is one of my favourite keyboards. It's too bad the keycaps go a bit shiny (mine was NIB). I even use it for my avatar! I've made a controller for this thing, but it's very different compared to other keyboards. It uses a parallel protocol rather than serial. I had to re-wire a couple keys be...

Thanks snuci, I would've totally passed this up if I didn't know it was a Fujitsu Leaf Spring Gen 1. It's not in super awesome condition. Are those redundant contacts, or do both sets need to be pressed down to complete the circuit? If it's redundant I'm impressed, though mildly worried about doubled keystrokes. If it isn't, that's an awful idea considering how much corrosion is present. Two failure points per switch! Yeah, it's redu...
