Private messages taking over 40 minutes to be delivered

Is there something wrong with Deskthority private messages at the moment? Some messages are now taking over 40 minutes to be delivered. My last message has been stuck in Outbox for 43 minutes (...and counting).

(this severely hinders urgent conversations)

The 3278 is the one that started it.
Ah yes - your lovely photos are the ones that started my insane quest to get this keyboard.

Why are a couple keys (PF15, 0) tilted? Is the switch bent/broken?

Converting to USB has been interesting. I spent a great deal of time trying to build a converter, but hadn't gotten very far (just couldn't get the signalling right). The more promising alternative is to completely replace the cap sense controller (in the works). I hope you succeed. Sam over on Gee...

The shot is gret, but just the colors and image quality is bad. Just re-take the shot in better light (warmer colors). Please do not listen to webwit. He understands nothing about photography. :evilgeek: The image quality is bad because the camera is cheap. I'll need a better camera to take a bette...

Ahh... Memotech MTX 512. I tried to buy one a couple years ago because I liked the look of the keyboard. How do the original switches feel? (I assume they're crappy if you're planning on replacing them.) Who makes that switch?

The observant will probably wonder how they've handled the printing on the keycaps with two colours of legend. It's hard to get a good picture showing this, but you should be able to see the small traces of blue plastic. Yep, triple shots. http://i.imgur.com/JngFv.jpg Oooh, triple shots. Nice. I've...

I bought an iMate for $25 USD shipped off ebay around Christmas. My brother-in-law found and AEKII in a shop for $5 bucks and so I got him the adapter. I am typing on it right now as a matter of fact. I don't like the switches in this keyboard. We're thinking about finding some linear alps to put i...

NIce. That 3278 is like a "space saving" version of the one I got. I like it, but it doesn't have enough keys for the layout I want. The light reflection makes it look backlit. ;) From pictures I've seen, it looks like the white keys are angled by row and the black keys in groups on the sides are no...

Where you the one that snatched the APL Beamspring the other day? (I bid, but it ended nearly triple what I was willing to spend) It ended up nearly triple what I was expecting. So you were the third bidder? I would have liked to get it around that price but a last-second maniac pushed the price to...

Post your IBM beam springs here!

I've been searching around for images of all the variations of beam spring keyboards, but I'm still not satisfied. I want to see every single damn IBM beam spring keyboard you've got - in glorious detail. I've got a beam spring coming in the mail (f-ing finally ) and I'll post mine when I get it. Le...

Interestingly I didn't realise these were made as recently as 2010. Maybe they still make them? No, they don't still make them. Most sellers know they don't still make them and charge high prices for them - usually more than the cost of an AEK itself. Edit: Holy crap - I just checked eBay and there...

That doesn't look yellow to me. I wouldn't bother trying to "retrobright" it.

Does that have Cherry switches? I foolishly bought a Commodore PC-20 keyboard (only $10 though) and it has crappy Mitsumi "rubber dome on stick". It's the worst Mitsumi keyboard I have.

DT225 by another name?

I instantly recognized the shape, but not the name. I thought it might be a clone, but then saw the "CH products" logo:

The price is great and they're "NIB", but the interface is "access bus". I wonder how easy they would be to convert.

Awesome project!

Those keycap converters look interesting. Possibly they might work for a whole range of vintage keycaps, like the TRS-80 Model III, TI-99/4A, Kaypro, Apple II, etc.

Thanks for those Blade Runner pictures, Soarer. I too have gone over that movie repeatedly, trying to figure out keyboards.

I've also been trying to figure out Ridley Scott's other movie with interesting keyboards: Alien. I still don't know what switch that is:

I'm always on the lookout for interesting keyboards in movies - but usually the old 70's to mid 80's keyboards. Those old style keyboards are just so much more fascinating to me than the modern stuff. There's a good site called Starring the computer where you can see lots of interesting keyboards (&...
