I recommend you can use pliers to remove the nubs. It sometimes makes the keycaps too loose, but you can use a bit of plastic bag to remedy that.

Speed switches are definitely fine, the only problem with them is the fact that they actuate before the click. UPDATE: I installed the FLIP drivers and it programmed over USB right away. Oh well, I only spent $5 on a Chinese ISP.

Anyways, this is a very interesting find, it may even help us to convert other Hall-effect keyboards into modern protocols.
