My Majestouch was also an original from 2010 or 2011. I wonder if it depends on where you live and humidity etc, although it definitely does get very humid in Japan too. All I know is that my legends started to go brown and yucky very quickly and it was the same for a guy at work (he had a Majestouc...

The Filco is so shit for this. The UV coating on their caps is like the Juicy Fruit chewing gum -- great while it lasts, which happens to be about 2 minutes. ISO probably limits you somewhat but otherwise it's the sky's the limit in terms of keycap options for a Cherry keyboard -- and also how much ...

You're welcome :) By the way, here's a list of design changes that Topre tout for their R2 line (Google translated from Japanese) [ source ] -- I've added some comments too: 1. While using the same 19 mm pitch full size keyboard as the conventional model, the space saving design is 16% more compact ...

Functionality-wise, not much aside from Actuation Point Control. wiki/Topre_Realforce#Realforce_R2

Also the lock LEDs are no longer on the caps themselves, instead they are in the top-right. Curiously it looks like they've done away with the embedded numeric keypad.

ANSI may come this year -- Topre's release schedule is normally like:
Something around February
Something around September
JUST SYSTEMS board in December

But yeah I think you are right about 55g. I would not be holding my breath for that :)

The best chance these days might actually be Massdrop. matt3o came up with a custom set but it never happened. I'm not sure why -- maybe it didn't get enough interest, although the comment section suggests that they should now at least.

PFU is definitely popular but I was just talking about Realforces (although I did include non-Realforce 660C and 980C ). I think Leopold will still sell their own models like the FC660C and FC980C for quite some time, and they might even continue getting orders from Topre for the traditional R...

I am guessing that Leopold will eventually sell their own Realforce R2 models. I would guess that Leopold is Topre's biggest distributor and I can't think of any company that comes close in terms of number of custom Realforce models they've had produced. For example all of the 10th Anniversary US-la...

You're right, they didn't release any 55g uniform models for TKL or full-size -- probably because I don't think they are popular with the Japanese. 55g was only really popular in the west and South Korea, I'd guess popularised by Leopold.

Realforce R2 TKL Models Releasing 14th March, 2018

Looks like Topre have announced release dates for their tenkeyless Realforce R2 variants. More info here (in Japanese): http://www.realforce.co.jp/news/20180309/ Like the full-size R2 release, there are 8 models, 4 with APC and 4 without. They are all Japanese layout, so no US models for now: http:/...

Mechanical keyboards are mainstream now, and Reddit is a mainstream website so it's no surprise that crusty old DT ancients don't like it there. Also, Reddit's default subs are shit. You may as well unsub all of them and start from scratch, cherry picking only niche topics that suit your interests. ...

To be honest I can't say with 100% certainty, but I'm about 90% sure the Epson boards are.
Please let me know if they are. Based on the pic, it looks like it might be the foam and foil type but wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be Topre.

RGB backlighting and ABS caps aside, it's still a solid keyboard, but the R2 is definitely more interesting to me. I'm torn between classic Realforce and its substantial, sexy forehead, and the sleek and modern R2. Curious to see what they do with the R2 TKL. I really dig the LED plate on the fullsi...

Not in US layout yet. There are 8 Japanese models, 4 white and 4 black: http://www.realforce.co.jp/products/index_office.html At least for the refresh they made the space bar longer so they're probably a bit easier to use for people accustomed to US and EU layouts. I'm not sure if this was a welcome...

Using Realforce as an example, there are so many models that differ only slightly in features that they offer that it would be silly to break them *all* out in to individual pages, but I think it might be appropriate to have separate pages for some models where there are enough features that differe...

I can't remember what happened there but IIRC you weren't too interested in having it anyway. If you were, then I would have asked HaaTa to send it to you. I can do the same right now if someone is serious about having it for switch weight measurements.

I don't have that anymore. I gave it to HaaTa years ago when he was building a sort of press rig for it. With that said, you are welcome to use it if he's willing to let it go. I think he has one with a much finer resolution these days anyway.
