Re: Univac Keyboard (Micro Switch)
the coding will be the same for any normal board as long as the hardware is correct i have seen your previous restorations so doing this will follow the same thing though you will probably need to handwire or create a new pcb

Re: Univac Keyboard (Micro Switch)
Very interesting, I have just today came back from a camping trip so therefore was not able to post yesterday however i believe i can help you somewhat with making it NKRO. I myself have an SD hall effect board though it looks like your switches are older given the 76 date code and they do not have ...

Re: Fortune Systems looooong keyboard with Digitran capacitive switches (conversion)
All of the pads you circled are on 2u keys or the enter key therefore i do not think they would have had any springs on them in the first case

Re: TRS-80 Model 4P
seems very easy to do you just need to map out the matrix, then you can probably even do an internal conversion if there is space inside for a teensy or a pro micro. QMK has support for rotary encoders so you could even use the existing ones for volume or mouse cursor etc.

it would also be worth moving the keycaps around when you spray them, looks like the ones at the edges are not getting enough UV compared to those in the middle.

Re: Fortune Systems looooong keyboard with Digitran capacitive switches (conversion)
The thing the customer has to understand is that retrobriting is only a temporary solution, the keycaps will yellow again over time and may yellow to more of an extent then they are currently. The keycaps may become too white known as bleaching if left in contact with the peroxide too long but other...

The way i see it the design of the keyboard is meant to be industrial etc where the outside finish is never perfect anyway. To be honest it would add to the character of the boards and make them more industrial then if they were perfect.

Re: Nexus Cherry MX-compatible Alps sliders (+SA keycap typing test on SKCM blue!)
Sorry what i should have said is that the top housing was designed around brown alps due to their unique tactile leaf and also for having slight larger stems compared to later alps so work best with brown alps bottom housing and the tactile leaf.

Re: Nexus Cherry MX-compatible Alps sliders (+SA keycap typing test on SKCM blue!)
Similar to most that bought these that do not have Brown Alps which it seems are the only alps that the sliders work. I have found a way to get white alps functionality back after using these sliders. I used the bottom housing from a dampened cream, the click leaf from the white alps, 85CN springs a...

Re: Alternate history: what the Enhanced layout could have been if...
I guess another 'benefit' to the above layout would be the force adoption of ansi layout given the reduction in alpha width which would reduce ISO enter key to a 2u key similar to the XT. That number block just looks plain ugly although i do like the idea of making insert into a lock key. Personally...

The layout is missing PgUp and PgDown keys. I use those often. Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't these keys just for scrolling? I think I would use my mouse in these cases. Thank you again! I will make a 2.0 version of both Layouts Certainly in most games and some other applications pg up and pg...
