Just so yo guys know, I am soaking the Logic Manual. It is a pack of schematics that I can hopefully get apart. There is a keyboard schematic in the bunch but it looks moldy, unfortunately. Let's see what happens. It's not looking good. Let's see when in dries in a day or so. I can't open it or it ...

I have the 5110 System Logic manual and it is in one piece... literally. It is wrapped in plastic but water got to it and the pages are stuck together and it is petrified into one solid cubeEngicoder wrote: ↑@snuci, do you happen to have the schematics for the 5110 (i.e. Ibm 5110 System Logic Manual)

@engicoder, if it turns out to be parallel I’ll buy you a beer Buy him a beer! The IBM "5120" is actually an IBM "5110 Model 3" so both keyboards are the same between as they are both 5110s. Sorry to hear about these setbacks. Are there individual components on the cards which could go bad or out of spec? Unfortunately, the ROS chips are "read only storage" or proprietary PROMs that are not available. They were only available as swappable cards. There are TTL chips on some of the cards...

I was afraid of that. An expensive goose chase, unfortunately. It also might have been the ROS controller (slot E) but buying one of those replacement cards and trying it is no guarantee either.Bass wrote: ↑I am starting to have a hunch that a different card (ROS control) could be the culprit too

Okay, here's the story. A company called CPT Corporation produced a CPT model 4200 that was a very early word processor. This system included a cassette based storage "console" that recorded keystrokes from a connected, modified IBM Selectric typewriter. Once you recorded a letter, you could play it...

Xerox 6060 keyboard - unknown clicky
Got this keyboard a little while ago. I am impressed at how clicky these min-domes are but I can't figure out what makes it click exactly. This is a great keyboard and I believe it is OEMed from Olivetti. I don't know who makes the keyboard mechanism/switches. It IS similar to one posted by Haata he...

I never really know by looking at key caps but lots of people here seem to be able to tell by looking at the font, key cap construction, etc. I couldn't find a Keytronic with that font and Return key style.Chyros wrote: ↑Eh, if you're certain about the foam and foil, why exactly are you asking about it? xD

Maybe not! Did you see the TV typewriter cookbook, or the Popular Science article that tells how to make your own keyboard? This looks VERY similar. This one has a parallel (or possibly serial) interface so there may be some processing in it but it wouldn't be a full-blown computer. My other Home-m...
