Is there an OS independent way of pasting unicode-letters?Eszett wrote: ↑I'm not sure, but using TMK-macros with pasting Unicode-letters would avoid both disadvantages, isn't it?

it is called actionmap instead of keymap. Actions use 16bit while keys use 8bit. It will not be less strange; see https://github.com/tmk/tmk_keyboard/issues/180 https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=41989.msg1885526#msg1885526 for "examples". So far I tried to get along with the 32 available FNs, but...

Guys, quick question: is it possible to remap a shift+key to something different with the TMK? What I mean is if I have, say key Q assigned at some position that key will than automatically send all the codes included the ones with modifiers like shift, alt, etc, right? it's not possible to configu...

I don't know about XTs or ATs for sure, but the Bigfoot doesn't have an actual keyboard controller onboard. There's only the capacitive sensing going on and the raw keypresses (not XT/AT/ps2 or any other regular protocol) were sent through the cable to the terminal. So technically, Soarer's is not w...

About runnig that code on a teensy: Key Features: Compatible with Arduino Software & Libraries ... So I guess it is not a problem at all. You could also use a pro trinket, it is cheaper than the teensy and should do that job. About more multimedia keys: that's a non-issue really as well. If you go t...

The thing is, if he (thinks) he knows what he wants, building it is a good thing to get started in building the thing. At least that's what I did and only two years later I am back to new prototypes. Trying stock solutions wasn't very productive. But I guess that's not the problem the OP has. He jus...

It seems I am the only guy who has a damaged bigfoot. My belief is, customs checked the package and dropped the bigfoot onto its edge and the "knob" you turn to extend the left foot broke off. Or it miraculously ripped its way through the packaging by itself, got in a violent cargo-room keyboard fig...

idollar got it this week. further impressions: the keycaps are pretty bad for a premium price keyboard. And the wobble of the keycaps doesn't make that better. These and the short connection cable between the halves are probably the only objective weaknesses I found with the Ergo Pro. Well built, go...

Have you never repaired an old bike just to have it fixed no matter how bad it is? Sure, if it the bike I am using regularly and it is not too hard to repair. If it is a bike, that I won't use because it is uncomfortable to ride when it is in good shape, then probably not. What use is a repaired bi...

Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of old stuff that is high quality. There's different qualities in old things, many of which you don't get with new, cheap counterparts. MY switch does not fall into that category for me. Black MY is okay; if I had one that works with a machine I am using, it would...
