I only really liked them after applying some lube, but yeah. Being able to buy new switches I would build a board with is a nice thing. It applies to the linear molds and their new dampened linear, I think. There's a little notch on the top of the stem which is an easy way to tell them apart, maybe ...

Happens to PBT as well. Those switches simply aren't MX compatible in this version. So measure first before you put anything on them. You won't be able to use it anywhere else. Also material fatigue might kill the caps completely even on Boxes over time. Jm6P8rLUvmw source: https://www.reddit.com/r/...

Ultrasonic works best. Of course it also depends on the cleaning agent used.
I wouldn't go beyond 40°C on ABS.

I don't blame iMav not at all. No matter what company buys it, you have to keep your eyes open and look out for things. Well, given how things went down and how the community had no chance in hell to keep up... it's a pretty shitty deal. I wonder how the site will be squeezed for money now. //e Giv...

The same issue as it is with powdercoating in the first place, a decent layer of paint will change the cutout size in unpredictable ways.
(I've done that when restoring old plates, it always kind of sucks)

I'm curious about the exact alloys used here. Galvanized steel should in theory: - look nicer since it doesn't shine through - be less harsh on the fingers since it's likely a bit softer Kind of the more interesting option in my mind. Also remember that this is a bit of an open design, the plate mig...

Calm down you guys. I would prefer not throwing away perfectly fine molds as the supply of good keycaps and barrels/flippers isn't great (imagine barrel frames like the MF which needs parts). But we don't even know what they're made of, there's no way to judge their longevity and feasibility of cont...

Thing is that we have no idea how long Gateron is supposed to last. Even assuming the claim of 50M actuations I've seen floating around is correct, we don't even know at what percentile. Is there something like an official datasheet anywhere which clarifies on that? Cherry guarantees 50M, average li...

This set really needs a 2.75u right shift. Many of the best ANSI WoB sets come from G81-7000 boards, which have the same layout as 1800. I think providing both short right shift (1.75u) and normal right shift (2.75u) would make the set much more useful for adapting OG sets. That's a good point. Wou...

Just a quick note: Using a small China cleaner, all switch parts and keycaps go through. Everything is rinsed in distilled water and left to dry. No stains, no issues, no damage so far.

You absolutely have to re-lube every switch before use if you deep clean it though.

It's a nice minimal approach to convert all kinds of US sets onto WKL bottom rows in general, as well as split right shift (+ HHKB). Threw together how this would look with a regular ANSI set. You can tell the original keycaps from the yellowed legends. up.jpg //e It's not like I can't stand the del...
