Re: My customized IBM 3278 Beamspring!
I did powder-coat mine and it turned out to be really the only way to properly get it restored ... paint was horrible (used it before):

Re: Model F Technical Manual Project
Most content for the overview section has been added and I am starting to work on the sections that go more into depth. Obviously, there is still some outstanding work on everything and I am happy if someone wants to review it - especially the Firmware Overview section (sorry, the whole thing alread...

Re: Model F Technical Manual Project
I just uploaded a few updates, mostly corrections and cosmetic adjustments of the QMK Firmware Overview section. I also added the translation table in the Appendix B for IBM Set 1,2,3 and USB scancodes. 93 pages for both: 71MBytes: http://www.linux-tin.org/ModelFManual.pdf 16Mbytes: http://www.linux...

I've been running with one of the default qmk keymaps for a bit now, but finally got around to customizing my own. I rebased pandrew's work on top of qmk master because there was a feature I wanted upstream. I created my keymap and flashed it, but now nothing works and I can't get back to the bootl...

@numist, can you post a picture of both ends of the soldering? Sometimes just a little bend / pressure can cause a column not to register if the soldering has a flaw. I had this with my self modified keyboards. I neglected to take any pictures of the solder job when it arrived, but here's how it lo...

Re: How to install F 4704 stabilizer tabs?
I just recently added those to my F107. The F107 originally comes with plastic inserts that have a different size. What I did is to remove the plastic inserts and filled the gap with epoxy resin that was already in the curing phase. Then I inserted the tabs into the gaps - they fit pretty nicely. I ...

I just came back from travel and I had my F62 with me in my backpack. I took some care of it, but not extremely. ... At 100% zoom, that image is about 140 pixels high. At what zoom do you expect people to read the document? Fit page width? Fit page height? It feels like we're trying to implement mip-mapping. Re: Model F Technical Manual Project
I can create two versions - one for screen view at e.g. 720p and one for printing @ 300dpi or more. For the re-creations in Photoshop (e.g. Split Keys) it is a bit more complicated, as it will take me some time to re-create them all in low resolution manually. Best way would be a SVG file and line-a...

I only have a MacBook Pro with me and the pictures look good - wither directly in Microsoft Edge or in Preview.
I did re-run your pictures through a 300dpi dither filter. Maybe this is causing some issues, too. Both of your pictures look ok to me.

Or, and this might sound crazy, how about doing this when you return home? Your keyboard will still be there. Or maybe it won't. Is it really such a good idea to travel with a very expensive thing? What if someone steals it? That's why when i travel, I take my cheap watch, wear my cheap suit, drive...
