The recent lack of updates has been worrisome. Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

I'd agree for common sense. Unifying things now only makes things easier down the line, for little cost. Plus, it makes it easier to maintain.

For layers, I can't imagine being able to keep track of more than 4 layers. I only use 1 additional fn layer, but that's just me.

I think it looks fantastic, and I cant wait to build this. So are you going to hack away the spacers? WKL +winkeys is the best way to lay ou...

..since you asked.. QFN chips are sitting at my table, PCBs are supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Just got my hot air gun from the mailbox and used it to desolder my first attempt at SMD soldering (placed the chip 180 degrees to proper position :) ). So over the weekend I should know if the hardwa...

I've been using 50g and 40g springs for a while in creams. The 40g are for my mods (linear modded) and the 50s are for my alphas. It makes them feel great. The lower actuation force makes them a lot smoother, but also a lot less tactile. For me, that's great. The typing feel is really nice. I love l...

Assumedly, these would also fit on Model M hammers? I know a lot of people dislike Buckling Springs because of their weight.

Basically what I already have for my 60% (different mod assignment, but same keys). Looks great, is great.

58 switches all you need for a rad 60%.

How in the world do you convince these companies to do such awesome stuff for this project? It's simply amazing. This is exactly what I would have hoped for. It's a level of polish that I would have only expected out of an "Actual Company", like I'm ordering a board off Amazon. The work done here is...

Don't know about in Germany, but I've seen a few AT's up for sale, for relatively cheaply, in both Canada and the US. But, they were around $125, which may be closer to the going rate for them. I know that the AT was much less commonly distributed than was the XT, and only had a short production cyc...

Honestly, it sounds as if the perfect board for you is something like the Model F AT, or Apple's M0116. The AT can be easily modded to use ANSI or ISo layouts, and already has almost your entire wishlist of features. I've even seen a mod done with it to give it the standard 7u spacebar + Alt keys on...

An MF badge would be appropriate, I think. The DT-style looks really nice in the MF logo, it's simple enough, and recognizable. It could slot directly into the space where the oval IBM logos go in the older M's, or the rectangular space in the Unicomp/late Lexmark cases.

Something just came to me... Pending the timing for the delivery of all the products to me, I think I might have time print up a mini version of the tool I made for reattaching the springs to the flipper paddles. There's a lot of banter between F and M (and beamspring, which is a completely different switch using a plate spring). At the end of the day they're all good, but the Model M revolutionized the PC keyboard layout and implemented some amazing features that most Model Fs and beamsprings just don't ha...

I love Ms exactly for their crude masculine feel and sound, comparatively Cherry switches are more refined and feminine... My thoughts exactly. @micrex- thanks- I'm pretty sure you're right. I'll have to do some tests on the pin-outs. Problem is, I have no documentation on the board. Fabulously done! I love the way youdivided the case up. When I did mine, it was just the two pieces. What did you use to stick the parts together? I had used putty, but it didn't work as well as I had initially hoped. (I used Krazy glue to fill in my seam).

IBM Model M50 I was kinda disappointed Unicomp never actually put this out during their Black Friday sale, would have been very tempted to pick one of these up. There should be a market for new cases if opened up to Geekhack. Quite a lot of IBM owners could be interested in pimping their old board. That one actually interests me a lot.
