Interesting suggestion to use Caps Lock for clicking, I never thought of that. Dragging / drawing, anything that requires precise movements while a mouse button is held down, puts a lot of strain on the hand. I like the idea of emulating the left click with a footswitch or a key such as caps lock, f...

Are there multiple versions of the alphagrip ? On the website here http://www.alphagrips.com/store/shopping.html it says about a NEW version with optical trackball. Does this mean that the version I see on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Alphagrip-AG-5-1-AlphaGrip-Ergonomic-Trackball/dp/B000O8AOO0/ is ...

Too big? It's not big, at all. It's way smaller than a standard 102-105 keyboard. I'm using mine at home and work for years, it's rare to hear a comment about it from a surprised co-worker, maybe once a year, and I get lots of visitors. I installed these Soft-Landing pads: http://elitekeyboards.com/...

Nope, it's rubber dome, however pretty good one. If you are looking for mechanical ergo keyboard, the Kinesis Advantage would be one to consider, here's the latest variant:

Kinesis Advantage LF special model with Cherry MX Red switch
Kinesis Ergo, well known for the contoured, freestyle, and other keyboards, now has a special version of the contoured, the "Advantage LF" (linear feel) available for order. This keyboard uses the MX1A-L1DW (red stem) cherry switches, which are smoother and lighter than the standard brown (tactile) ...

Yes, you rest the hands on the keyboard when you pause typing, but when you are actually typing it's better practice to lift your hands a little bit. By the way, the wells help avoid angling your wrist upward, another bad thing for RSI, that this keyboard solves! Plus it puts your strong thumbs to u...

They didn't exactly make a custom keyboard for me. They liked the idea, and made it into a specal order model that anyone can get. They even made labels for the new model, ie in the LED area (you can see it in the photo) it says: MPC USB/LF. By the way, I'm grateful to both Deskthority and Geekhack,...

Yes. Especially since the Kinesis has a configurable audible click (tiny loudspeaker), this works really nice in combination with the linear switches. You get the audible feedback, and the key stroke remains smooth as butter. I too wish there was a split keyboard with non-staggered layout. The uTron...

advantage_LF.jpg You might want to contact Kinesis directly of you are interested in soft linear switches instead of the default cherry MX Browns (soft tactile). Back in March, I asked Kinesis if they could make a model with red cherry switches. They listened, ordered switches from Germany, made ke...

150 vs 350 euros? That huge difference doesn't make sense, I would look for another dealer. In North America, fentek-ind.com for example sells the Kinesis for $269 (shipping is free). The TE is $199 + expensive shipping, so the cost difference is minimal. I think the TE would be especially good for ...

Very nice, however the "wave" of the keys is too exaggerated, you are creating another "staggered keyboard" in a different dimension :-) The "wave" of the needs to be subtle, otherwise I believe it will create more trouble than benefit, especially when typing in the bottom two rows, as well as when ...
