/quote="//gainsborough";p=384117] Or you could use the 102, right? Or do you not have the case for it? Those early 102s came with a gorgeous golden lable - my advice would be to use that case if you still have it =) You could even paint it black if that's the main reason you're going for the avant.[...

Early Northgate Omnikey 102 with factory blue Alps. I was going to use this in a black Avant Stellar case, but no such luck. The early Omni boards were arranged differently, and don't mount the same way, so they won't fit the later (i.e. Avant...) case. So...back to square one. Swap out the switches...

Still digging through Mr. Whoopee's Closet, down to the 386 vintage stuff now, found this one. No case, no ID other than "KB-089" on the back of the board. White Alps clones. About half have lost their click. 4 pin connector. Two position slide switch, unlabeled, presumably AT/XT? Brown Enter key, e...

Hello, Im trying to identify this keyboard, It is allegedly a NTC board, but after doing some searching on the internet, I can't find a NTC board with this layout. Any help would be appreciated. New here, trying to catch up. Late reply to a question a few pages back. I have two of those here. Mine ...

Thanks, the two boards on the K-104 Wiki don't show the Sung Wei legend, but they're clearly from the same manufacturer. I can't actually confirm that the Laser board is an MTek or a K-101 (or K-102), since there's no model number other than in the FCC ID. There's no photo on the K-101 Wiki, so I ca...

Same way a raven can be like a writing desk. (...because there's a "B" in both...) While we're being facetious, a bit more info on the MTeks. I opened up the K-104 (labeled MTek K-104 on the back) and the Laser, and the PC boards are nearly identical. K-104 says 31-42400-024, then K102A-H3, then Sun...

Thanks, I didn't expect to see the blue Alps either. Doing some reading, and the Wiki says this is an MTek/Monterey. I may be slow, but, uh, how does the rest of that go? I'm rebuilding the Avant to replace a perfectly functioning Monterey K-104 that I've worn the tops of the caps off of over the la...

Happily, but what is it? No logo on the top of the switches, but they've got to be early blue Alps, yes? New here, so I have a lot of reading and learning to do. It needs a good cleaning, but other than an old ID etched on the back side it's near mint. Inside is almost spotless. Don't think I can pa...

Digging through the closet to find a switch and keycap donor for the ebay Avant and stumbled on one branded "Laser". Blue Alps, double shot keycaps, low miles and barely yellowed if at all. FCC ID is FKF456K-102. I thought this was something later and generic until I popped off a couple keycaps and ...

Infotrac was one of the companies that sent us stuff to recycle. They sold a parts tracking system used by auto parts stores, and these were the keyboards used in the stores. We got their monitors also, pretty generic but also gray. Most of their keyboards were gray Costar CSK-2101 or 2102 (white Al...

Thanks, I worked in an electronic recycling/surplus place back in the '80s and '90s and had first shot at anything that came through, so I saved a bunch of mechanical keyboards, mostly Alps. I've been using a Monterey K104 (factory industrial gray including the caps and branded Infotrac, from an aut...

Newb here, but not new to mechanical keyboards. Found this site in a search for Multitech KB-101A, as I was about to part one out for the blue Alps switches to redo an Avant Stellar, figured I'd better look it up first. Mine doesn't have the Acer logo (blank, long since removed whatever was there......
