Hm, but i don't quite like grey or white space ... perhaps a red one, but that would be a little too flashy. I'll think of it :)

I'm from Romania, but my keyboard (a QFR with ghetto greens) is ANSI all the way (with an extra euro symbol on the right of the 5 % key) :)

It's not yet possible to pay, right? The 'right' invoice will have included payment info, if i understood it well.

Usually I do go for a subtle Esc key, even on Space Cadet SPH, but this is one colour scheme where I'm there with you on red. It's authentic. Like grey Return (which I want). The red extras kit can be Transmit, Backspace and Delete. I'd still buy it. Ain't a Honeywell without Transmit. Yes, and - I...

Isn't it possible for the basic set to have by default the ESC and RETURN keys (for TKL) and also PAUSE etc. (for TK) in RED? Is there anyone who wants a grey ESC?

Nice animation! Where did you find that? Proper credit should be given to someone who does something like this. Hm, quite true, i found it on this page: http://carlosfenollosa.com/computers/keyboard/ (see the section where it says "This animation depicts" ... ) From the text, it *seems* that the au...

I would love coffee & cream, tall spherical keys. What would be a tentative price for TKL?

When i get the time, as i have a couple of additional white alps keyboards, i'll disassemble a switch from one, and (perhaps) sacrifice it for an experiment - to try to shorten the bottom of the slider with 1mm or so. When the key is not pressed, the spring should keep the shortened slider bottom pa...

That's a great explanation, thanks for the effort put into drawing it! From the drawing, if somehow the slider would press "later" (or gradually) on the leaf, it still looks like the actuation would take place later. I am speculating, as i don't know about different alps (or clones), but if either t...

Nice diagrams indeed!

(before going to sleep)
So, when the stem is pressed, it breaks the contact? If so, perhaps a "V-sharpened" stem bottom would delay the actuation somehow, if the contact would happen after a longer key travel. (just trying to understand)

A-ha, thanks!

Perhaps with a stiffer string, won't the actuation point at least *feel* to kick in a bit later?

Enhancing blue alps

First - Hello, Deskthority forum users! As i mentioned here , i have a Chicony kb-5161 with blue alps. I think it is a great keyboard, with good keys, metal plate and quite nicely shaped (and only very very slightly yellowed). I also like the feeling of the blue alps, even if i compare them with my ...

I think, perhaps, you think "wasd" (newer), while vi authors thought "home row" (older) :)
